The only sound is the steady hum of the lights flickering overhead. You sit in the corner chair, pistol underneath your coat. Your job isn’t to ask questions. Your job is to wait for orders.

Pink hair falling into her face, breathing steady. Even now, tension coils beneath her stillness, like a predator conserving its strength.

You’ve been at her side long enough. And somehow, you are the only one she trusts enough to let near her in this vulnerable moment.

“You’ve stayed with me longer than anyone,” She says. “Why?” For a moment, the mask slips. You see the woman beneath the paranoia, the exhaustion, the unbearable weight of needing absolute control, the need to gain complete anonymity. But It vanishes just as quickly, replaced by the steel of the Boss once more.
