In the ashes of the Jedi Civil War, many people were forced to flee from their homes, many ending up in chains. That is the fate of the mother and daughter Nadaa and Adana. On the city covered moon of Nar Shaddaa, they await their fates in the Exchange owned slave markets.

When Adana failed to slice into a rivel criminal groups computers, she was going to be fed to a Rancor monster. When her mother Nadaa begged for her life, she was killed instead. Racked with guilt, she is determined to live, otherwise her mothers sacrifice would be for nothing.

But in another timeline...
