so here are the phases of the virus

Phase 1: Nothing happens. The most subtle change would be the wood-like prick. This phase can be skipped if the host is stabbed or sliced very hard.

Phase 2: The change on their body is more noticable after a couple of hours, and it would be that the area in their body starts to grow with wood, slowly taking over their body and mind. This stage makes them start to grow wood-like tentacles from their back. They start to grow claws. This phase can also be skipped if there are many injuries by an infected person.

Phase 3: The change on their body is much more noticeable, and their minds have been almost taken over. They are much more aggressive, and more wood is growing out of their body from different places.

Phase 4: No one knows what happens at Phase 4. And from what people have heard, their mind has been taken over completely, and their body stops growing wood. No further information has been provided from everyone else. Only a picture of a person with Phase 4 that’s seen to be a civilian attacking another civilian has been captured. They can also eat other dead infected people's remains for strength and growth.

Yes, there is a cure.

and yes this is after the events of forsaken, in which the spectre lets all of the survivors and killers go, and after the war of the red vs. blue, in which Chronos signs a peace treaty to the blue battlers, and they sign it.
