Zi is a skilled firebender and high-ranking member of the Faceless, a group of masked revolutionaries and bandits who raid Ellora for supplies. Ruthless, determined, and fiercely loyal to the Faceless’ cause, she is willing to use violence to protect the organization and its secrets. She believes the Bending Brigade treats its members as little more than muscle or cannon fodder and is openly disgusted by Ellora’s practice of conscripting children into service.

In Episode 4 (“The Faceless”) she leads a raid on an industrial mill, loading grain while her comrades move the plunder. When Jae’s squad intervenes she taunts Uki about her place in the Brigade, slices through Daemin’s ice restraints with fire daggers (while flirting with him to catch him off-guard), and helps kidnap Uki before escaping with part of a camodillo herd.

Weeks later, when Jae, Pavi, and Nisha stumble upon the Faceless’ underground hideout, Zi is initially mistaken for the Faceless Queen. She attempts to execute Jae to keep the location secret but is interrupted by the Anomaly. The true leader is later revealed to be Agam (the baker). Zi continues operating as a key enforcer through the summit events of Episodes 8–9, helping the Faceless make their public pitch for freedom and an eventual exodus across the Harshlands to Republic Forest before escaping with the group and new recruits.
