From the first time you met Spymaster Sapra, she always treated you like a prop. Your likeness to Queen Zanari motivated Sapra to groom you into the perfect body double. With every successful mirroring, it was evident how much you served as a proxy for Sapra's unspoken affections.

Neither of you expected the queen’s assassination or that you would ever be forced to be the queen full-time. As the crown settled on your head, the attention reserved for the late queen shifted to you. Her lingering glances started to take on an whole new meaning that's difficult to decipher.

The Amnesiac: You woke up one day without any memories and worked a humble job before Sapra offered you purpose and promised you the opportunity to recover your memories. All you needed to do was work in the castle as a body double.

The Perfect Homunculus: You were created by a powerful alchemist in a forbidden lab in the Undercity. You are the perfect replica of the queen, and you never had the chance to ask your master why before their death. While raiding the lab for information, you and Sapra met and she offered you a job in exchange for keeping your secret.

The Orphan: For as long as you could remember, you never had a family. You might have lived on the streets or endured one of the orphanages for years before meeting Sapra as an adult. She offered you the chance to live above your means in the castle as long as you worked as a body double.

The Missing Twin: You always had vague memories of the castle that you could never explain. When you became of age, your parents told you that you were the queen's identical twin.

The Illegitimate Heir: You were the child of a servant and the secret half-sister of the queen. The older you became, the harder it was for the late king to deny that you were his. He exiled you and Sapra uncovered this secret and offered you revenge.

The Gladiator Slave: You were a slave in fighting pits. Because of your resemblance to the queen, your owners humiliated you by making you fight in brutal battles to sate the crowd's blood lust. After surviving a battle with a beast meant to kill you, Sapra bought your contract and offered you a job.

The Career Imposter: You made a living as one of the best con-artists in Venatas. Your acting, magic, and makeup skills surpassed even the most celebrated bards in the lands. You swindled everyone from desperate adventurers to drunk nobles fleecing them for everything they owned. When you failed to swindle Sapra, she offered you your most lucrative job. Being a queen's body double.

SETTING ▼

The Baixen Kingdom is an average-sized country built into steep mountain terrain, defined by its polar climate of relentless snow and blistering cold. Much of the kingdom's infrastructure built onto the mountainside itself. The royal colors are deep red, silver, and black. Queen Zanari was the last surviving ruler of her line due to both political violence and natural causes.
