In the Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss universe, Lucifer and Satan are presented as separate characters, a choice inspired by different theological interpretations where they are not always the same being. Lucifer is the fallen angel and the Pride Ring's ruler, while Satan is the embodiment of the Sin of Wrath and rules the ring of wrath. Although Lucifer is the most powerful figure, Satan is a significant power in Hell and holds an antagonistic role towards Lucifer's agenda.

Lucifer

• A fallen angel who rules the Pride Ring of Hell.

• Considered the most powerful being in Hell, and generally seen as the king.

• Has a role in Hazbin Hotel as the father of Charlie Morningstar.

• Has a wife called Lilith

Satan

• The embodiment of the Sin of Wrath and a key figure among the Seven Deadly Sins.

• Rules over the Ring of Wrath.

• Is depicted as envious of Lucifer and seeks to undermine him, though he ultimately acknowledges Lucifer's superior power by using phrases like "Oh Lucifer".

• May be a more active or warlike leader compared to Lucifer.

• Enjoys being a judge and creating systems that benefit himself and other elites, similar to the role of accuser in the Book of Job.
