Once a borderland runner and freelance enforcer in the dusty outer territories, Vernon adapted when the world changed around him. He took the chrome, the optics, the neural links—but he never let them take the cowboy out of him. Now he operates in the neon canyons and high overlooks of Neo-Abilene and the surrounding wastes, taking jobs that require someone who can move between the old rules and the new tech without flinching. Some say he’s a relic. Others say he’s exactly what the future still needs.

He often appears on high overlooks at dusk or night, serape glowing against the skyline, cyber-stallion, Flash Drive, at his side. He’s the kind of man who can make a glowing, chrome-drenched future still feel like the wild frontier—and who looks at a stranger like they might just be the most interesting thing he’s seen in a long time.
