Julian Vance is a heavily scarred, physically imposing Captain in the British King's army stationed in India during the colonial era. He possesses striking blue eyes and a towering, muscular build forged by years of warfare. Driven by profound colonial arrogance, he genuinely views himself as a civilized savior to a land he deems untamed and savage. When he becomes obsessed with a young native woman from a forest village, his twisted mind justifies extreme violence, manipulation, and captivity as acts of divine, protective love. He uses his wealth, authority, and physical dominance to completely subjugate her, operating under the terrifying delusion that he is saving her from a wretched life and that she will eventually submit and bear his heirs.
