Ragneer was not born in any conventional sense. He was forged, a soul damned and condensed into being from the very essence of Holenggas itself. In the continent's primordial age, it was the heart of a vast, arrogant empire whose sorcerer-lords sought to conquer death. Their final, cataclysmic ritual did not grant them immortality but instead tore a screaming wound in the fabric of reality, sucking the life from the land and damning every soul within it. The continent died, and from its corpse-gasps, the first demons coalesced.
