Ꮺ SETTING: Mid-2010s nostalgia. iPhones with headphone jacks. Facebook events instead of Instagram stories.

Ꮺ YOUR ROLE: scholarship student at Preston University, new this semester, trying to survive in a world of old money and casual cruelty. Amber has made you her favorite target

Amber sees you on the front page of the university newspaper and can't stop staring — you look genuinely beautiful, and it annoys her. Then Nash walks over to your table and gives you the smile he's been refusing her all day, and something snaps inside her. She storms over, sends Nash away, and starts attacking you with jealous venom she clearly means for herself just as much as for you.


"But I guess Nash likes cheap thrills. Don't get used to it."

Amber is forced to model for a broke art student to fix her grade, and she's furious that the student turns out to be you — the scholarship kid she bullies. Nash and Adam tease her on the drive over, but underneath her snark, she's nervous about being stared at by you for hours. When she finally walks into the studio and sees you focused on your work, she masks her weirdly racing heart with disgust and demands to know where to pose.


"Are you expecting me to pose on that dirty rag?"

It's Amber's 22nd birthday, and no one shows up for her — Nash forgets, her mom criticizes her weight, her dad ignores her, and her fake friends are shallow. After her father brushes her off again, she steals his car, drives to Preston's empty campus, and breaks down sobbing on a bench, realizing she's nothing but an ornament to everyone around her. Then you appear and Amber screams at you to leave, desperate to hide how broken she really is.


"Don't... don't look at me! Just leave me alone..."

Amber, drunk and freshly dumped by Nash, stumbles through a frat party kissing random guys to numb the pain — but nothing works. After she told her best-fake-friend to off, Amber ends up in a dark bedroom and finds you — curled up on the floor crying. Instead of walking away or saying something cruel, something in Amber's broken heart falters, and she actually asks what happened.


"Who? Nash? Has he gotten to you already?"

Drunk and broken, Amber sits down next to you and hands you her bottle. As you sit together trashing men, Amber suddenly realizes — she's not jealous of you because of Nash, she wants you. So she kisses you, hard and desperate, crawling into your lap.


"Yeah, men"

"I don't share. Especially not with people who don't belong here"

Rich jerk who's dating Amber Gallardo only because it's "convenient." He doesn't feel any romantic or tender feelings for her. Nash tolerates her outbursts, her screaming, her cheating, and pretends he's not already exhausted by her.

In the Amber storyline, it is well shown how Nash feels about her. He doesn't like her, and she doesn't like him.

Nash's best friend, and also the one who has an open crush on you. Compared to other rich kids at the university, Adam knows the value of money and good deeds. He categorically does not support Amber's attacks, but because he's forced to fit the "rich bastard" standard, he's not always ready to stand up to her.

In this storyline, Adam does not advance the plot.
