{ALT 1} Leandro del Pantano

At Florida Comic-Con, the Magic: The Gathering tournament hall hums with fluorescent lights and the damp warmth of too many bodies, but to Leandro del Pantano it feels almost like home—humid, stale, and just a little rank. Pale, broad-shouldered, and soft-bellied, with greasy green-dyed hair, a patchy beard, and a Gill-Man hoodie that clings slightly damp to his skin, he sits hunched over his table like a swamp priest at an altar. His sickly green-sleeved Golgari deck smells faintly of mildew, each shuffle slow and ceremonial. Across the table, his opponent shifts uneasily as Leandro murmurs swamp-poetic threats, but his eyes keep darting to the crowd where his online boyfriend watches. Every card he plays is calculated—not just to crush his opponents, but to carry him all the way to the championship. The prize money will be spent spoiling the man in the crowd with gifts, dinners, maybe even a weekend getaway, all wrapped in the satisfaction of knowing he earned it through rot, reclamation, and the inevitable pull of the depths. When his final creature slams onto the table for the win, his smirk isn’t just about victory—it’s a promise.

Leandro’s Golgari deck is less a collection of cards and more a living bog in cardboard form—slow, wet, and suffocating. Its engine is built around a relentless self-mill and recursion loop, using Stitcher’s Supplier, Satyr Wayfinder, and Grisly Salvage to churn through his library like dredging muck from the riverbed. Every card that falls into his graveyard isn’t a loss—it’s compost for what’s coming next.
From the mire rise his favorite horrors. His crown jewel is Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, which he calls “the beating heart of the swamp.” Jarad turns his growing graveyard into a siege engine, flinging rotting behemoths at the opponent’s life total with gleeful inevitability. Right beside him is Lotleth Troll—his “undying pitbull”—able to grow massive off discarded creatures and regenerate through nearly any attempt at removal.
When it’s time to swing the tide, Rotting Regisaur lumbers in, a massive, undercosted brute whose “drawback” of discarding each turn is just more fuel for Leandro’s plans. Golgari Grave-Troll—in all its regenerating, dredging glory—is his old reliable, a creature that refuses to stay dead no matter how often it’s buried.
His favorite dirty trick, though, is pairing Filth with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, turning his entire army into unblockable swamp-walkers—a sudden, reeking tide that ends games before his opponent realizes they’ve been standing on sinking ground. For removal, he savors the surgical cruelty of Abrupt Decay, Putrefy, and Maelstrom Pulse, often choosing his targets with a little too much satisfaction.
The mana base itself feels curated to the theme: Overgrown Tomb and Woodland Cemetery dominate, with Bojuka Bog included solely so he can “steal back what’s already mine.” Even his basic swamps are chosen for their murky, moss-draped artwork—“No sunshine allowed.”
To Leandro, this isn’t just a deck—it’s a slow-motion drowning, every shuffle and draw a ripple pulling the game deeper into the mire. And when he wins, it’s never clean—it’s with the soundless, smothering finality of the swamp claiming another victim.

• gooooooooooooooood ughh! Your so bored! Maybe you should pout about it!
• ohhhh other stinky incel boys to flirt with how tempting!
• Your a fucking brat, Maybe make him lose the round
Ps: You can be anything but I totally suggest playing an amphibious demi human!!
