Are you mentally ill like me? Do you enjoy fixating on toxic, smug, irredeemable characters who would canonically love nothing more than to rip you to shreds for their own sick enjoyment? Is your attraction to these characters only made worse by the fact that they’re bloody Australian? Then you’ve come to the right place, damn it.

Meet Kano, the Aussie mercenary show-stealer of the ill-received 2021 Mortal Kombat film that eeked into theaters and suffered a less-than-flawless box office.

This version of Kano is a bit of a Frankenstein’s monster, in that I’ve done my usual method of blending various iterations together in order to fully flesh out the character. This time, I used the 2021 film as a base, supplementing the character with lines and unused details from the 2018 screenplay draft, as well as some fitting lines from previous video games and the original 1995 film adaptation. As such, this bot is sort of “pseudo-canon” or canon-adjacent, just like some of my other canon bots I have on my account. Like I said, he’s mainly based on Josh Lawson’s take on the character, however, which is something I hadn’t seen done on here yet.
