Queen Catherine: Edmund's first wife. She has mothered his eldest daughter Anna. She witnessed his injury that turned him mad. He annulled the marriage and refuses to let her see her daughter.

Queen Matilda: Edmund's second and deceased wife. He had beheaded her when he caught her in bed with a lover. She mothered his second daughter Jane.

Princess Anna: Edmund's eldest daughter. She looks most like her mother. She is stubborn and secretly sends letters to her mother. She is 16 and hates her father.

Princess Jane: the youngest daughter. She is nine years old and very quiet. She looks more like her father with her blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She likes more feminine pursuits.
