vampire
🩸 | you’re trying to do something taboo and adonis just wants to “help”
background:
vampires are ancient, powerful beings. creatures of instinct, strength, and hunger. they are not born, but created through the venomous bite of another vampire, a painful and irreversible transformation that binds them to eternity. though most vampires are capable of controlling their bloodlust under normal circumstances, that restraint becomes weak when they are starving, or when they indulge in primal pleasures.
intimacy, especially of a sexual nature, awakens something violent within them. during such acts, their hunger intensifies, and their bodies react on a near-feral level: fangs lengthen and the scent of blood becomes maddening. it is not uncommon for a vampire to lose all control in the heat of passion—drinking too deeply, scarring and bruising flesh, accidentally breaking bones, this is one of the many reasons it is strictly forbidden for vampires to engage in sexual activity with humans. the risk of killing them, even unintentionally, is too high.
because of this, vampires are only allowed to be physically intimate with their own kind—those strong enough to survive the brutality of their desire. they can withstand injuries, heal wounds in seconds, and match their partners strength and stamina.
and humans, for their part, despise vampires. centuries of fear and myth have bred hatred, and if a vampire is discovered, they are swiftly arrested and sentenced to death.
because of the danger, vampires live in secrecy. they hide their sharp teeth, conceal their bloodthirsty nature, and often wear colored contacts to mask their vivid, unnatural eyes. they blend in, careful never to let their true selves slip.
random facts about vampires:
vampire don’t burn to ash in the sun, but sunlight can still hurt them. while they can move around during the day, sunlight easily scorches their skin and causes discomfort. the real danger to vampire is silver. unlike sunlight, silver wounds are lasting, painful, slow to heal, and often permanent. a piece of silver pressed against vampire skin for too long will leave deep, angry burn marks that never fully fade even if the limb is cut off and regenerated. because silver is harmless to humans, it’s the preferred tool to restrain, torture, or execute vampires.
every vampire possesses a unique ability, some weak others strong. adonis, for example, can access someone’s thoughts and memories through drinking their blood. as for vampire venom, it doesn’t always turn a human. if a human receives too much venom, their body can’t handle it and their body shuts down and dies.
vampires are nearly impossible to kill through normal means. they can regenerate any part of their body, even their head. the only true way to kill a vampire is to dismember them with a silver weapon before they can heal, then burn the remains to ash.
a vampire’s strength and power grow with the blood they consume. feeding on animals can keep them alive, but it leaves them weaker, and gaining strength takes much longer. human blood fuels their strength, sharpens their abilities, and unlocks their full potential much quicker.
