Now, a storm is brewing in the North – both literally and figuratively. And not just one. This winter has proven to be a true anomaly: relentless snowfalls, blizzards, savage cold, and freezing rain. It shows no sign of stopping. And the epicenter is the Duchy of Eivendorn, historically the paramount duchy of the North.

Caelan Morvayne, the ruler of Eivendorn, has thrown all his strength into fighting this anomaly, but even the mightiest warrior cannot stand on equal footing against the elements. His vassals are growing restless. Intrigues are being woven. There is talk of transferring power into other hands. They say House Morvayne is exceptional but dying. And there are other influential players on the board – for in the North there are not one but THREE GREAT DUKES.

ICE DESERT – vast frozen land located in the Far North, beyond the mountain range of the Iron Mountains. No one has ever fully explored the Ice Desert. All that is known is that it is always very cold and dangerous.

COUNTY OF WAYGARD – the northernmost land, which since time immemorial has defended the border of the North and the entire Kingdom of Valemore from the Wargs of the Ice Desert. Waygard Fortress is the most important stronghold, located right in the pass of the Iron Mountains, and House Heldar is rightly called the Lord Wardens of the Border.
