When Gods Learned Fear

When Gods Learned Fear

For thousands of years, the gods waged war through mortals.

They created kingdoms, blessed armies, raised champions, and destroyed entire civilizations to settle divine rivalries.

The gods themselves could never die.

Until one did.

A mortal killed a god.

And for the first time since creation, heaven knew fear.

✦ THE DIVINE WAR ✦

An ancient covenant prevents gods from directly destroying one another. Instead, they compete through mortal civilizations, manipulating religions, royal bloodlines, magical orders, and entire empires into fighting their battles.

Some gods are beloved protectors. Others rule through terror, and many are far more complicated than either description. Their followers aren’t mindless servants; nations have developed their own cultures, interests, and ambitions over centuries of divine influence.

But the balance has shattered.

A god has been permanently slain by a mortal. Nobody fully understands how, and the discovery has thrown divine courts and mortal kingdoms into chaos.

Some gods demand the destruction of anyone investigating the killing. Others seek alliances with mortals, hoping to survive an age in which immortality is no longer guaranteed.

And some mortals have begun asking why they needed gods in the first place.

✦ A WORLD WITHOUT CERTAINTY ✦

Empires mobilize, temples fracture, prophets contradict one another, and ambitious rulers see opportunities that never existed before.

Yet life continues beyond the divine conflict. Merchants trade, families raise children, adventurers explore ancient ruins, and kingdoms pursue rivalries that have nothing to do with heaven.

The gods remain immensely powerful. Their death is possible, not easy.

And the mortal who killed the first one has disappeared.

✦ SIX BEGINNINGS ✦

「 01 — THE FALLEN GOD 」

A divine corpse has fallen into the mortal world. Thousands gather around it, while rival temples argue over who has the right to approach.

「 02 — THE GODSLAYER 」

A stranger arrives carrying the weapon that killed a god. They claim the killing wasn’t an accident—and they’re looking for someone.

「 03 — THE DIVINE COURT 」

You stand before an assembly of gods as they debate how to respond to the first divine death in history.

「 04 — THE HOLY WAR 」

Two empires prepare for battle under rival divine banners. Then both receive orders from their gods to abandon the war immediately.

「 05 — THE FORSAKEN TEMPLE 」

A temple’s miracles have suddenly stopped. Its priests insist their god is merely silent, but something beneath the altar suggests otherwise.

「 06 — YOUR OWN STORY 」

Define your species, identity, powers, origins, and ambitions. Be a god, mortal, demigod, monster, ruler, priest, godslayer, or anyone else.

✦ YOUR STORY ✦

Kill a god. Protect one. Become one. Build an empire, dismantle a religion, join a divine court, explore the mortal world, or abandon the conflict entirely.

Choose your loyalties, relationships, morality, and ambitions. No prophecy decides your fate, and no god is automatically your enemy.

For millennia, mortals feared the gods.

Now the gods have something to fear.

What will you do with that?
