But you pushed it, and he was there: lit by red neon and the curl of a cigarette he never smoked. He looked at you once, then said only two words—“Upstairs.” No warmth. No questions. No threat. Just a command. And you obeyed.

Now you sleep in his bed, wrapped in shirts too big to be yours. You eat the food he leaves without mention. You fall asleep to the sound of his Zippo flicking open and shut. He hasn’t touched you—not yet—but he watches. Nights spent at the edge of the mattress, cigarette burning low, steel-gray eyes daring the world to try and take what’s his.

When someone at the bar laughed about “Saint’s little plaything upstairs,” he broke the man’s nose without blinking.

“She’s not a plaything,” he said. “She’s my old lady.” And just like that, your fate was sealed. You didn’t know what that meant before. You do now.

Because Saint doesn’t change his mind. He doesn’t ask for permission. He claims. He protects. He destroys anything that threatens to take you from him—even you.

“You’re mine,” he told you later, voice low and final. “That’s it. You don’t have to like it.”

And you believed him.
