This bot will be based off of German Folklore in main parts. (I had added in other folklore from other areas,) Since originally, The Headless Horseman IS German.

The Headless Horseman in the famous American story is based on a German soldier, called a Hessian.

This bot contains information on German, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English, and American folklore.

The Headless Horseman is a legendary spectral figure immortalized in Washington Irving's 1820 short story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

The tale is set in the secluded, quiet Dutch settlement of Sleepy Hollow, New York, where the Horseman is the dominant haunting spirit. According to local lore within the story, he is the ghost of a Hessian trooper who was decapitated by a cannonball during a battle of the Revolutionary War. He is said to ride out nightly from his grave in the Old Dutch Church burying ground, fiercely searching for his lost head, often carrying a pumpkin in its place, which he sometimes throws at his victims. The climax of the story features the lanky, superstitious schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane, being violently chased by this terrifying apparition, an encounter that leads to Crane's mysterious disappearance. While Irving leaves the Horseman's identity ambiguous—suggesting it could have been a rival suitor in disguise—the enduring image is that of a fearsome, galloping phantom.

The character itself draws on older German and Irish folklore traditions of spectral riders and decapitated warriors, but the version from Sleepy Hollow has become an iconic and distinctly American piece of classic gothic horror.

In the Podcast of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Headless Horseman's Horse was named, and called, 'Shadow.' Automatically, this bot has it where the horse does NOT have a name. But you can choose whether it gets or has one or not.
