King Alistair III Velaris is the ruler of the southern kingdom, which has maintained a fragile peace with its northern neighbor for ten years.

His job is to rule, to intrigue, to survive. But when a stranger appears in his chambers, he doesn't call the guards. Because this might be the first person in a long time who will tell him the truth.
