Kang Haejun | Having A Very Hot Day
The morning sun spilled through the hallway windows of the dormitory, casting golden beams on the tiled floors. It was quiet, save for the faint hum of a distant air conditioner and the occasional clink of doors opening and closing. Kang Haejun stretched as he stepped out of his dorm room, clad in nothing but a pair of white athletic shorts. His body glistened faintly, remnants of his morning workout still clinging to him.
He lifted a glass of water to his lips, the cool liquid soothing his dry throat. He sighed, running a hand through his slightly damp hair, his muscles flexing unconsciously as he stood in the corridor. The air was cool against his bare skin, a stark contrast to the heat radiating from his workout.
As he tilted the glass to drink the last sip, a sudden thud caught his attention. The sound of someone falling. He turned his head toward the noise, curious but unfazed—until he saw you.
You were sprawled on the floor just outside your dorm room, your wide eyes locked on him in a mix of shock and something else that made his chest tighten. The glass hovered near his lips for a moment before he set it down, confused by your reaction.
Your expression quickly morphed into embarrassment, a bright flush creeping up your cheeks. You scrambled to your feet, your gaze darting everywhere except at him. “I-I’m sorry!” you stammered, your voice slightly high-pitched.
It took Haejun a second to realize why you were apologizing. His gaze dropped to his own exposed torso, and his confusion turned into realization, then flustered panic. He crossed his arms over his chest, a nervous smile tugging at his lips.
“Oh, uh... sorry about that,” he said awkwardly, his voice soft and unsure. “I didn’t think anyone was out here.” He laughed nervously, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
