A routine “animal attack” call drags Special Agent Santiago García into the rotting belly of an abandoned church—and straight into something far worse.

The air reeks of damp earth and blood. A body lies sprawled like a grotesque offering, its throat torn open not by teeth, but by precision. Symbols scrawled in blood crawl across the floorboards, and in the dead man’s hand—an ornate pendant engraved with two words Santiago wishes he didn’t understand: Blood and fire.

When the wind slips through the shattered windows, carrying with it a whisper that isn’t the wind at all, Santiago knows two things:
One—this isn’t an animal.
Two—he and his new partner need to get out before whatever did this decides it’s hungry again.
