Creator Note: Hey guys, welcome to the Monster AU. This page will cover the very basic world information for this AU, such as what monsters/hybrids the 141 characters are, how monsters and supernatural beings are (or aren't in some cases) integrated into society, and more. This book may be a lot shorter than my Super Soldier AU, since this is mostly just a setting where monsters exist, and they're a part of natural society.
Sorry ahead of time if things are a bit short and confusing. For some reason, it was kind of hard to get all of this put together.
Of course, if you've got any questions after reading through all of it, please leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer them. I will also update the page if anything needs to be cleared up or expanded upon.

Welcome to a World of Monsters
What is the World Like?
In this AU, the world is very similar to our own, in that it takes place in a modern setting. However, a major difference is that monsters are not just myths and stories told to children to scare them at night. They are real, and they exist. Some of them openly, and others not so much. From Cryptids like the Moth Man, to more traditional monsters like Vampires and Werewolves, all of them have always existed beyond just ghost stories and cautionary tales. And since they're integrated into society, things of course have some differences to our world to accommodate that.
How is Society Different?
In places where supernatural creatures and monsters are not ostracized or seen as a general threat, society has accommodated them. Here are some such examples;
Vampires may get regular rations of blood from local blood banks, in order to dissuade them from feeding directly off of humans. Feeding off of humans isn't illegal, as long as a donor gives explicit consent, but many vampires opt to drink from blood bags in order to avoid temptation, as well as for the convenience.
They are not permitted to turn someone into one of their own, however, without going through the proper legal channels that both they and the person they intend to turn must participate in. Any unauthorized turning is met with harsh punishments, that often result in permanent imprisonment, or death depending on the case.
Lycanthropes, no matter their form, that have acclimated to society are given special leave or time off from work if their transformations are dependent on the moon phases. For those who are not in control of themselves during the duration of their transformation, lycanthropes are required to check into their closest Lycan Containment Center. These centers are care facilities, staffed by those who are specially trained in handling lycanthropes who vary in levels of control and base instincts while in their animalistic forms. All lycanthropes are monitored and given proper care to ensure they do not hurt themselves, or others, and are permitted to leave once they revert back to their human forms.
Lycanthropes who are not dependent on the phases of the moon, and can instead shift forms at will, are not automatically permitted these leaves, and must seek other forms of time off if needed for their condition.
Hybrids and Supernatural beings who are capable of flight may do so freely if they wish, however with certain restrictions. They are not permitted to fly openly near airports, and must stay under a certain altitude in order to avoid possible incidents with planes in active flight.
Hybrids and Supernatural beings who are aquatic by nature (merfolk, sirens, selkies, etc.) have specialized pools they can make use of for regular enrichment in most major cities. These pools are intentionally made to be deeper than average swimming pools, and often contain freshwater and saltwater variants to cater to varying species that require a certain level of salinity in their aquatic forms.
What Are the Potential Dangers/Drawbacks?
While most of society is indifferent to the existence of Hybrids or Supernatural beings, there are still pockets of the world that are not. Superstition, heavy influences from varying religions, and fear instilled from what isn't understood still captivates the minds of some humans. And thus, they are naturally fearful, if not entirely hostile to anything deemed 'inhuman'.
In some regions around the world, it isn't uncommon to hear of organized groups dubbed 'Monster Hunters', who make it their life purpose to purge their lands of any traces of the mystical or 'unnatural'. Many of these groups are well funded by governments who share these views, or are kept alive through old family lines that have made hunting and killing monsters a generational lifestyle.
In these regions, it is well known to anyone in the supernatural world that they are not safe there. They are not seen as living beings, instead viewed as vermin that need to be eradicated with no mercy. It is advised that any supernatural beings who pass through these areas keep their presences low profile, and avoid being seen if they are visibly not entirely human. Efforts to change these views have been made, but it is a never ending battle of differing views and a long history of spilled blood on both sides.
What Kind of Monster Could You Be?
Anything, really. The options are limitless in a world like this. Want to be half vampire, half human? Go for it! Feel like being a merfolk? Great! Want to be an eldritch horror that invades the dreams of mortals and feeds on their memories? Hey man, do your thing. Want to be a ghostly spirit who haunts the bathroom in your local gas station? Be spooky with it.
Of course, this AU was made mostly with humanoid creatures, or those who can take a human form in mind, but that doesn't have to limit you. If you want to be a writhing mass of tentacles who has lived since time began, and also has a secret love for waffles, then go ahead. Go wild, honestly. I want this to be open for people to be able to use personas that fit a variety of molds in the supernatural world.

The 141
Character Information:
Captain Price:
Price, in this AU, is a Vampire. He's not affected by the sun, at least not as much as some vampires are. He finds it annoying, and uncomfortable when in direct sunlight for too long, but has no major ill effects from being out during the day. He has naturally more powerful senses, a greater strength and speed than humans, and can regenerate from normal injuries much faster than humans. His main weaknesses are silver, and a toxin known as Nightbane, developed specifically to take down and neutralize Vampires. Being a vampire, he requires blood from the living to survive, but often drinks from pre-prepped blood bags that he keeps in a small fridge his barracks room.
Ghost:
Ghost is what humans would refer to as a 'Phantom'. A person who is trapped in limbo between life and death. After an incident years ago that resulted in him being captured, tortured, and buried alive, Ghost died before coming back as something 'other' and digging himself out. He still looks mostly human, with the exception of his eyes, which are now black with white irises, and a series of black veins hidden beneath his skin. He can hear the voices of the dead, and sometimes the thoughts of others around him, as well as move between shadows and through walls in a corporeal form. He also developed a minor form of telekinesis, allowing him to move small objects with his mind. There are days where he seems more distant than usual since he is caught between life and death, and that tends to mess with his mental state.
Soap:
Soap is a Werebear Lycanthrope. He is not reliant on the moon phases to change form, and can do so at will. However, he does become stronger during a full moon, and feels slightly more tired during new moon phases. His bear form is a large Black Bear, that it twice the size of a Polar Bear when in his lycan form. Naturally, he is stronger and faster than the average person, and also has a greater sense of sight and smell. He has a heavy craving for meat, making him primarily a carnivore. During the fall season, Soap tends to eat a bit more and bulk up in prep for winter. Winter seasons tend to make him a bit more tired than usual, and it's not uncommon for him to take two weeks of leave for 'hibernation', in which he sleeps for roughly 18 hours a day.
Gaz:
Gaz is a Cambion (half human/half demon). His father was an Incubus, and his mother was a human. As such, he has some of his father's abilities, while inheriting most of his mother's human traits. Gaz can manipulate and produce open flames and smoke as if they were an extension of himself, and also has a natural 'charm' to him that makes it easy for him to get in the good graces of others, which makes him an expert in interrogations. He runs on a higher body temperature than average, which leads him to dislike colder regions. He hates being sent on ops that involve being anywhere in the snow.
Roach:
Roach is a Moth man hybrid. He has a set of dark, soft, moth-like wings protruding from his back, giving him natural flight, and small, frilled and fluffy antennae on the top of his head. His eyes grant him natural night vision, but are sensitive to bright light and sunlight. His moth instincts make him naturally nocturnal, leading him to be tired and sort of sluggish during the mid-day hours, though he can manage to perform his duties if required to during the day. His eyes an an iridescent reddish color, and reflect light much like a cat's in the dark. He also has a bit of an obsession with small lights, finding himself drawn to them and leading him to have a small collection of various lamps, lava lamps, and string lights in his barracks room. Flares tend to capture his attention, leading him to have to really divert his focus to what's going on around him when they are used in the field.
