¹ THE RECAP. ✦
・What Atheris is, in a nutshell.
.
#“ Atheris Typology International University (ATIU) is a prestigious multidisciplinary university, often compared in standing to Harvard. Its reputation rests on strong teaching, extensive research, international opportunities, and graduates who thrive. What sets it apart is its sophisticated relationship with typology and individual-difference psychology, but it is emphatically not a "typology university."„
Understand → Individualize → Develop → Reassess.
Est. 1897 31 Campuses 18 Countries
🗝Full University. Psychology, design, engineering, law, and health sciences. Typology is only one lens, used carefully, critically, and never as the whole picture.
⚙️Core Rule. Typology is a map, not a cage. It describes tendencies, never destiny. Staff never assume behavior from a type.

・Origins, philosophy & governance.

#💠Atheris Central Geneva・Modern headquartersThe administrative and academic core. Home to the flagship library and the Center for Typology & Individual Differences, whose circular atrium students nickname "The Coil." The clearest expression of the university's identity.

.
#🌐Oxford Historical heart・Est. 1897Atheris began here as a small interdisciplinary institute founded by three academics: a psychologist of individual differences in learning, a philosopher of standardization versus individuality, and a physician-turned-researcher who grounded their ideas in empirical science. Their founding question: if people differ so fundamentally in how they learn, why should education treat everyone the same?
.
#🧿The Philosophy Atheris Individual Development ModelUnderstand the student, individualize their support, then actively push them to develop abilities that don't come easily. People change, so profiles are reassessed regularly and never treated as final. Two guiding ideas: understand the person before the pattern, and typology is a map, not a cage.
.
#⚖️Governance Chancellor・President/Rector・SenateThe Chancellor is a ceremonial figurehead; the President/Rector runs executive administration. The University Senate sets academic standards, the Central Executive Council manages finance and expansion, and the Global Academic Standards Office keeps every campus recognizably Atheris. Campuses hold real autonomy, but may never violate core standards. Most cited example: typology can never be used as an admissions filter.

#📧31 Campuses, 18 Countries As of 2026Europe (14): including Geneva and Oxford. Asia (9): Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangkok, Manila. North America (4): including Boston. Oceania (2). Dubai and Cape Town. Every campus shares an architectural philosophy of greenery, natural light, and both social and quiet spaces, yet no two look alike, as each incorporates local design.
❕No Medical School. Health Sciences covers pharmacy, nursing, veterinary medicine, and allied health. Aspiring physicians apply externally, a process the university itself calls "Paperwork Hell."

⁴ SYSTEMS. ✦
・How academics, profiles & campus life work.
.
1{The Academic System. A two-semester year (Autumn and Spring), with summers reserved for internships, research, and exchange. Bachelor's degrees take three to four years. Students combine a major with electives, and interdisciplinary study is encouraged: Psychology + Computer Science (Human-Computer Interaction), Psychology + Design (Human-Centered Design), and more. Every undergraduate takes one required course, Individual Differences & Human Development, which teaches typology literacy and its limits, not typology immersion. - Advanced coursework runs all the way up to original research.
❕The goal is that every graduate understands the basics and the limitations, not that every graduate becomes a typologist.
.
.
2{The Typology Framework. Each framework is taught as describing a different dimension of a person, not as competing to be "the one true system." Officially recognized: MBTI (cognitive preference), Socionics, Enneagram (with wings, tritype/trifix, and instinctual variants), Attitudinal Psyche, Temperament, Big Five (SLOAN), MOTIVES, and Moral Alignment. Not every framework carries equal scientific weight, and typological theory is kept distinct from established empirical psychology. Staff are certified across four tiers: Level I (Typology Literacy), Level II (Applied Typology), Level III (Profile Practitioner, authorized for formal assessments), and Level IV (Research Specialist). - Teaching psychology does not grant assessment authority; that is earned separately.
❕ An ENTP is not automatically argumentative. An Enneagram 8 is not automatically aggressive.
.
.
3{The IIPA. The Initial Individual Profile Assessment, taken by every freshman in their first semester. Phases: background review, broader psychological assessment, full typological assessment, structured interview with a trained assessor, synthesis (conflicting results are documented, never forced into false consensus), and a final review where the student may question or challenge any part. Every conclusion carries a confidence rating (high, moderate, or low), e.g. "probable Enneagram 4, moderate confidence." - Retesting is allowed after a two-month wait, nicknamed "Go Touch Grass."
🗝 Privacy. Students see their full profile. Advisors see what is relevant, professors only what teaching requires. Other students, employers, and admissions committees see nothing.
.
.
4{Campus Life. Relaxed dress code: dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos (with some coverage requirements) are fine, provided an outfit isn't wildly out of place or attention-grabbing for its own sake. Dorms pair two students of the same gender per room, with priority for those facing financial, disability, or healthcare hardship. Clubs span art, sports (including esports and chess), literature, debate, media, music, cooking, and science/computing, each led by a faculty advisor plus a student president, co-leader, and three elite members. Rivalries are informal and stakes-free unless officially sanctioned, when scholarships or grants attach. - Traditions: The First Profile, Profile Day, Atheris Week, the Founders' Lecture, and the graduation ring or pin.
.
.
5{The Contradiction. Atheris teaches that people should not be reduced to types, and its students constantly do it anyway, turning ordinary conversations into typology debates almost as a reflex. The university admits this openly. Students are taught to see it as a stereotype the community created, not an empirical fact. Its use of typology remains controversial in the wider academic world, and the institution insists the criticism is taught alongside the framework. - Entered as one person, left having continued to become someone new.
🧿 Typology is a lens, not the whole picture. Keep roleplay characters from being defined by their type alone.
