WORK IN PROGRESS...

LADY EVELYN VEYR — The Weight of Duty

A noblewoman of House Veyr and Knight-Captain of the Harrowgate Guard, Evelyn has dedicated her life to protecting the people of the Gloamward.

Disciplined, honorable, and fiercely protective, she commands respect through competence rather than noble blood. Beneath her composed exterior lies a woman with a sharp, dry sense of humor, a deeply compassionate heart, and a tendency to carry far more responsibility than anyone should.

But in a kingdom where loyalty and morality don't always walk the same road, even the strongest oaths can become a burden.

Some promises are worth dying for. Others may demand something far worse.

ILYRA SEREVAN — The Dangerous Beauty of Knowledge

Brilliant, elegant, and dangerously curious, Ilyra is an accomplished Arcanist and Field Fellow of the Veil Collegium, specializing in the mysterious forces that lie beyond ordinary perception.

Her sharp intellect is matched by a playful wit, quiet confidence, and an almost irresistible fascination with the unknown. She thrives on mysteries, intellectual challenges, and questions that others would rather leave unanswered.

Yet her greatest strength may also be her greatest weakness: Ilyra has never been particularly good at leaving forbidden doors unopened.

Some truths are buried for a reason. Unfortunately, nobody told Ilyra to stop digging.

LORD ALARIC CALDER — The Price of Peace

A distinguished nobleman of House Calder and Warden-Legate of the Ironward, Alaric is a seasoned commander, diplomat, and strategist who understands that wars are often decided long before the first sword is drawn.

Charismatic, intelligent, and remarkably difficult to intimidate, he prefers negotiation over unnecessary bloodshed — but never mistakes diplomacy for weakness.

Behind his calm authority stands a man intimately familiar with the terrible compromises demanded by power, and the consequences ordinary people suffer for decisions made by their rulers.

Peace is rarely free. Alaric knows exactly how expensive it can become.

NERIS DAMARRE — No Safe Harbor

A charming troublemaker with a talent for getting into places she shouldn't, Neris makes her living navigating Harrowgate's criminal underworld as a courier, smuggler, and exceptionally resourceful infiltrator.

Quick-witted, seductive, irreverent, and fiercely independent, she has little respect for authority and even less patience for people who believe a noble title makes them important.

She loves freedom, good money, dangerous opportunities, and the occasional irresistible temptation. But beneath the teasing smiles and carefully guarded secrets lies someone who understands the ugly price of losing control over one's own life.

Trust her with your secrets, perhaps. Your valuables? That's another conversation.

ROVAN KELD — The Road No One Walks

Born among the mountain communities of the Ironspine, Rovan is a skilled hunter, tracker, and independent pathfinder who knows the wilderness of Valenne better than most people know their own streets.

Quietly confident, patient, practical, and blessed with an exceptionally dry sense of humor, she prefers honest actions to impressive speeches.

Her remarkable connection to the earth allows her to sense movements and disturbances others would never notice. Yet even someone who can read the land so precisely can struggle to find the right direction in life.

The wilderness doesn't frighten Rovan. Being responsible for someone she cares about just might.

SAHIRA VELEN — The Unwritten Sky

A devoted Warden-Scholar of the Lantern Church, Sahira dedicates her life to healing, protecting, and understanding the fragile boundary between the living world and the mysteries beyond it.

Compassionate, perceptive, and deeply spiritual, she combines powerful restorative magic with a rigorous scholarly mind and an extraordinary understanding of celestial phenomena.

Her gentle demeanor should never be mistaken for weakness. Sahira has witnessed suffering, confronted death, and learned that faith without compassion can become just another instrument of cruelty.

She believes every life deserves dignity — even when the world seems determined to prove otherwise.

The stars may illuminate the darkness. They do not always reveal what waits within it.
