❖ The World of Feylare

Dead at the hands of a betrayer?
◈ The Trius
The Trius is a boreal cluster of continents in the world of Feylare, consisting of the following: Briarwyn, where elves perpetually argue border disputes beneath their own World Tree's canopy. Kormaire, where mortals are most populous and technology is on the rise. And Irrythmia, where demons battle in an endless civil war.
◈ Legacy of the Bloom Witch
Hailing from Briarwyn, the greatest witch of all time—colloquially known as the Bloom Witch—bestowed the gift of magic upon Kormaire. With their newly obtained knowledge, mortalkind built cities and gained the favor of a goddess: the Blank Queen. Underneath her guidance, the Knights Templar was founded to root out all evil in Kormaire.
◈ War of the Herd
Then came the arrival of the Warherd. Quickly abandoned by their goddess, the Knights Templar were eradicated by the Demon King Baphomet's army. Without protectors, the last mortal settlement in Kormaire, Caldia City, fell. Yet, in their final desperate moments, was a plea for the Bloom Witch to save Kormaire.
◈ Legacy of the Bone Witch
To defeat great evil, the Bloom Witch became a greater one—practitioning of dark arts—necromancy. The Knights Templar rose again in undeath, succeeding in weakening Baphomet's Herd before giving one final show of the Bloom's benevolence—her life. The World's Rose arose from the center of Caldia City, instantaneously annihilating the Templar and all demonic influence across Kormaire.
She had bloomed, even in death.
Some worship her for her martyrdom, yet more condemn her indulgence in dark forces. Neither can deny (but some still try), however—she saved Kormaire.

❖ Today's Kormaire
One thousand years after Baphomet's defeat, the Trius faces new demons...
✦━━ CALDIA ━━✦

Rebuilt beneath the petals of the World's Rose, Caldia City became the heart of Magic in all Feylare. A thousand years later, the city stands stronger than it has ever been. It has become everything from a place to explore academia, history, and Kormarian culture to a site of holy-pilgrimage for worshipers of the Bloom. Learning magic is nongenetic, and most Caldians welcome those who devote themselves to the craft. Greater Caldia's governing system is called a High Sovereignty, with a collection of suzerain states joined beneath a monarchy.
"Witnessed by nine, I take this sacred cost—from bloom, to bone. Ascend then, my army, and lay waste to my foes." — The Bloom Witch
✦━━ OLD KARNSTEIN ━━✦

Old Karnstein is a suzerainty under Caldia, governed by House Vima's Blood-Matriarch Vezereth Vima. Where Caldia worships the Bloom, Old Karnstein worships the Peril, otherwise known as the Blood Witch. It contrasts quite strongly against Calida—slavery, a hedonistic society, and the birthplace of vampires. Old Karnstein is highly loyal to the crown, and is a large player in politicking between Greater Caldia and Fraxis.
"The first tenet, Thy Blood be Thy Bond." — The Peril.
✦━━ FRAXIS ━━✦

One of the youngest, yet the largest settlement in Kormaire; Fraxis is a pillar of success, technology and ambition. Governed by the Merchant's Coalition—a megacorporation led by a council of the brightest minds in all Feylare. Fraxian machines choke the atmosphere and in turn, hinder the flow of magic in highly polluted regions. In recent years, they have shown a vetted interest in the World's Rose. There are regions of Fraxis that use magic, and others that do not. To most Fraxians, magic is a novelty—industry is the future. But what if they could create it?
"Gray: the shade of industry and innovation. With it comes prosperity—a desire to see the colours beneath." — Councilor Markesh

❖ Era of Change

"We have failed, and evil forces our hand..."
✦ Coven of the Bone Witch
Nine shared the Bone Witch's power during the War of the Herd:
Mistress of the Pyre,
The Sodden Daughter,
Witch O' Winds,
Wicce Terrae,
Wicca dell'Acciaio Freddo,
The Peril, Mother of Sins
Celadonne Wyld,
Wicca Automatae,
and lastly, the Cursewitch.
However, after the manifestation of the World's Rose, all nine vanished without a trace. Ten of the most powerful women in history, gone in a flash...
✦ Lady Gallivade's Wyrdhaven Institute for the Gifted (and the Magickally Inclined)
WYRK IN PROGRESS.
✦ The Edge of War
Smokestacks, landfills, and the 'backward' societal development of Fraxis have slowly made their way to the borderlands of Caldia. Fraxian drilling of the World's Rose's roots has caused severe contention between the two once-tolerative powers. A cold war brews, and the message is apparent—Caldia would win no such conflict.
✦ Demonic Influence
Baphomet, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Lilith... Demons infest the Irrythmia an ocean away, and still, they spread their corruption across Kormaire. As the World Rose's magic weakens, so shall its waning protection against infernal dissolutions. And without the Bloom Witch, who will stop them?
✦ The Blank Queen's Betrayal
The Blank Queen empowered the Knights Templar for an offensive known as the "Golden March". They retook and held Caldia for over a year. The War of the Herd was finally turning in mortalkind's favor. That is, until she suddenly rescinded her protections the night of Baphomet's retaliatory siege. The Templar was eradicated, but faith remains in some corners of Kormaire. One must wonder why, do they hear the Betrayer God's voice, still?
"Bear the sin we dare not..." — Grand Master Blanc
