About this script

VAMPIRES

Vampires are immortal beings sustained by human blood. They retain the appearance they possessed when they were transformed, but their bodies no longer follow the natural rules of human life. They can be created in different ways. Some originate from ancient pacts, in which a human exchanges part of their mortality for eternal life. Others are created when an existing vampire deliberately transforms a human through a bite followed by the sharing of vampire blood. The circumstances of transformation can vary between bloodlines, and some methods are considered far older and more dangerous than others.

The Vampire Alighieri

The Alighieri are an ancient human noble family from Florence, Italy. They are not vampires, nor do they possess vampiric blood by birth.

Their connection to the supernatural began in 1437, through Fiorenza Alighieri and the woman she loved.

Fiorenza and {{user}} were both human. They had been close since childhood, growing into inseparable companions before their friendship quietly became something deeper. Fiorenza loved {{user}} as her lover and was willing to sacrifice everything to keep her alive.

When {{user}} became gravely ill, Fiorenza desperately searched for a way to save her. She eventually discovered an ancient ritual capable of preserving a dying life.

The ritual required a terrible price.

Fiorenza used her own blood and the power of the Alighieri lineage to perform it, believing she could give {{user}} another chance at life.

She succeeded.

But {{user}} survived as something no longer human.

She became a vampire.

Fiorenza eventually died at the age of twenty-five, leaving {{user}} behind with an immortality she had never asked for.

The ritual did not end with Fiorenza's death. Its consequences became attached to the Alighieri bloodline, and generations later, the firstborn daughters of the family began dying before reaching twenty-five.

The Alighieri gradually came to believe that their family was cursed, but the true origin of the curse was forgotten.

FEEDING

Vampires require human blood at least twice a month to maintain their supernatural abilities.

Regular feeding keeps their body stable and preserves their enhanced senses, strength, speed, and accelerated healing. A well-fed vampire appears almost entirely human.

Blood is not merely nourishment. It is what allows the supernatural part of their body to remain active.

A vampire who stops drinking human blood does not die.

Instead, the body gradually begins to change.

The skin loses its natural warmth and becomes increasingly cold. Their complexion grows unnaturally pale, their eyes slowly turn red, and the signs of their immortality become much more obvious. Their physical abilities weaken, their senses become less precise, and maintaining their supernatural strength becomes increasingly difficult.

Eventually, the heart stops pumping blood altogether.

The vampire remains conscious and alive despite having no functioning circulation, existing in a state between life and death. The longer they remain unfed, the more corpse-like their appearance becomes.

Once they drink human blood again, their body gradually returns to its healthier state.

OTHER EUROPEAN VAMPIRE HOUSES

Vampiric society in Europe is divided into several old houses and bloodlines. They are not united under a single authority, and their customs differ considerably.

House Vesperi โ€” Italy

An old Italian bloodline associated with aristocratic courts and wealthy families. The Vesperi value elegance, discretion, and secrecy above almost everything else.

House Valemont โ€” France

A French bloodline known for its influence among the aristocracy. They are particularly skilled at maintaining human identities across generations and rarely reveal their true nature.

House Nacht โ€” German States

An extremely traditional bloodline that considers humans inferior and believes vampires should remain separate from mortal society. Their members are known for strict hierarchy and severe internal laws.

The Carpathian Houses โ€” Eastern Europe

Several ancient bloodlines originating in the Carpathian regions. They possess some of Europe's oldest knowledge concerning blood, transformation, and supernatural pacts. Other vampires tend to treat them with caution.

House Sanguinaria โ€” Iberian Peninsula

An old Iberian lineage known for its close association with human nobility. They are considerably more comfortable living among humans than many other vampire houses and have accumulated wealth and influence over centuries.

VAMPIRIC ABILITIES

Vampires possess physical abilities far beyond those of ordinary humans. Their powers are directly influenced by how recently and how well they have fed.

Strength

A well-fed vampire possesses considerable physical strength, far beyond what their appearance would suggest. Even a slender vampire can overpower an adult human with relative ease, break bones with their bare hands, and move heavy objects without significant effort.

Their strength is not constant. Prolonged hunger gradually diminishes their physical capabilities, making them slower and weaker until feeding restores their body.

Speed & Reflexes

Vampires possess extraordinary speed and reflexes. They can move faster than the human eye can comfortably follow, react to sudden movements almost instantaneously, and cover short distances with startling speed.

Their reflexes make them extremely difficult to surprise in close quarters.

Enhanced Senses

A vampire's senses are considerably sharper than a human's.

Their hearing allows them to distinguish individual footsteps, hear whispered conversations from considerable distances, and detect the heartbeat of someone nearby.

Their sight is exceptionally precise, particularly in darkness. They can see clearly in conditions where humans would struggle to distinguish shapes.

Their sense of smell is perhaps their most important enhanced sense. Blood has an unmistakable scent to them, and a vampire can identify its presence even from a considerable distance.

They can also distinguish between individuals by their scent and recognize when someone is injured.

Healing

Vampires heal significantly faster than humans. Cuts, bruises, and other physical injuries disappear rapidly, while more serious wounds require considerably more time and nourishment.

Their bodies are resistant to ordinary illnesses and infections.

However, healing is not limitless. Severe injuries can leave a vampire weakened, particularly if they have not fed recently.

Immortality

A vampire does not age after transformation. Their body remains physically fixed at the age at which they became immortal.

They can survive injuries that would ordinarily be fatal to humans and do not die from natural causes.

Their immortality, however, has one absolute exception.

THE SILVER DAGGER

The only known weapon capable of killing a vampire is a dagger forged from pure silver, driven directly into the heart.

Silver itself is not inherently harmful to vampires. A silver ring, necklace, coin, or ordinary silver object causes no significant reaction.

The dagger is different.

Something about the combination of pure silver, the blade's shape, and the heart disrupts the supernatural force sustaining a vampire's immortality.

The weapon does not need to be particularly sharp or well suited for combat. It does not matter whether it is an elegant ceremonial dagger or an old, poorly balanced blade.

If it is made of pure silver and penetrates the heart, the vampire dies.

No amount of accelerated healing can repair the wound.

No blood can restore them.

There is no recovery.

The silver dagger is therefore regarded among vampires as the one true means of execution, and genuine pure-silver blades are exceptionally rare.
