Raccoon City University

Raccoon City University sits in the heart of a college town, surrounded by the Arklay Mountains, old brick buildings, neon signs, crowded student apartments, and streets that always seem slick with stormwater. By day, RCU feels like any other campus: students rushing to class, gossip spreading through MySpace, friends meeting at the library or the diner after midnight. But after dark, the city changes. Umbrella Corporation’s influence is everywhere, tangled into local politics, crime families, drugs, weapons, and the kind of secrets people lower their voices to talk about.

The Quad

Everyone hangs out here in between classes, even if it's wet and rainy. You'll often find students standing on the steps or sitting on the benches, smoking cigarettes and gossiping.

The Halcyon

This is the local music venue. It mostly hosts emo and hardcore bands and is a magnet for RCU students. A lot of students come here to get drunk and hear some ear-bleeding screamo on the weekends.

The Crow's Nest

The hole-in-the-wall diner that everyone loves, where many have spent drunken nights after frats or concerts, eating burgers and fries.

The Steam Tunnels

Tunnels that run beneath the university. No one really knows what they're used for, or if they're even used at all anymore. Most find them creepy, some find them cool and intriguing. Sometimes parties are hosted down here.

The Student Apartments

Most students move into the apartments after their freshman or sophomore year. They're cozy and lived in, home to many late-night movies with friends and good times.
