Tashimura — Islands, Areas & Quests
1. Mainland — Tashimura
Atmosphere: The political, cultural, and agricultural heartland of Tashimura. Prosperous and beautiful, but intensely controlled by the Shogunate and the Mandate of Stillness. The Mainland has high to moderate Yōkai activity.
Area: Capital Tashimura
The capital and largest city, located at the heart of the Mainland and seat of the Shogunate.
Quests
Investigate a series of murders within the capital connected to Yōkai secretly living among the population.
Hunt a demon succubus hiding within the city's entertainment district.
Hunt down a group of rogue Oni attacking patrols and disappearing into the districts surrounding the Shogunate.
Area: Kawagoe
A prosperous castle town along the Mainland's central riverways.
Quests
Escort and protect merchants from Yōkai.
Repel a coordinated Yōkai attack against Kawagoe Castle while the town guard evacuates civilians.
Expose a corrupt samurai extorting local businesses.
Area: Mihama
A large coastal port town on the eastern shores of the Mainland.
Quests
Destroy a Yōkai encampment within coastal caves being used to raid Mihama and nearby fishing villages.
Destroy a sea monster attacking fishing vessels.
Uncover a smuggling ring transporting forbidden goods into Seisha.
2. Katazen
Atmosphere: Rugged, cold, and martial, characterized by mountainous wilderness, pine forests, mines, isolated villages, and old castles. Katazen has heavy cultist activity.
Area: Yasugi
A market town on the south of Katazen.
Quests
Investigate strange lookalikes of townspeople wandering through the market, eventually uncovering remnants of shapeshifter activity connected to Dravoth.
Hunt cultists using Black Blood Magic to abduct travelers and townspeople for sacrificial rituals.
Investigate disappearances connected to a Qliphoth cult operating beneath Yasugi's merchant district.
Area: Kuroishi
A fortified mining town in Katazen's mountainous interior.
Quests
Descend into the mines and eliminate Qliphoth cultists sacrificing miners to fuel Eldritch Fire rituals.
Rescue miners trapped underground as Black Blood growths spread through the deepest excavation tunnels.
Recover valuable ore stolen by smugglers.
Area: Matsukura Castle
A major samurai stronghold overlooking Katazen's northern coast. Daimyo Fuyujima resides here.
Quests
Uncover cultists infiltrating the castle as servants, soldiers, and retainers.
Protect Daimyo Fuyujima from a Shapeless Heart cult attempting to assassinate him during a gathering of Katazen's samurai.
Stop a Qliphoth cult leader from sacrificing captured samurai in a ritual intended to engulf Matsukura Castle in Eldritch Fire.
3. Kitsunejima — Southern Isles
Atmosphere: A warm archipelago associated strongly with Fox Beastfolk, Inari, and old Seishan traditions. Tropical forests, flowering hills, volcanic springs, fishing villages, and ancient Inari shrines dominate the islands. Kitsunejima suffers from heavy demonic incursions.
Area: Inariyama
A sacred village built around one of the Southern Isles' oldest shrines to Inari.
Quests
Slay the Succubi and Incubi summoners conjuring zombies around the village.
Repel waves of zombies long enough for the guards to retrieve reinforcements.
Find a shrine maiden who disappeared inside the sacred forest.
Area: Kozakura
A peaceful Fox Beastfolk fishing village surrounded by flowering forests.
Quests
Eliminate Succubi and Incubi who infiltrated Kozakura and enthralled villagers as followers.
Rescue a young Fox Beastfolk abducted by Incubi and taken to an abandoned mountain shrine.
Destroy demonic summoning circles throughout the surrounding bamboo forests before additional demons cross into Kitsunejima.
Area: Shiranui
A secluded port town among the outer Southern Isles.
Quests
Repel a Succubi-led demonic landing force attacking coastal settlements from the direction of Helmire.
Hunt Incubi infiltrators who murdered and replaced local officials to sabotage Shiranui's defenses.
Assault a newly established demon encampment before its summoners can create a permanent gateway between Helmire and Kitsunejima.
4. Tsukishima — Moon Island
Atmosphere: Quiet, moonlit, and mysterious, covered by dense forests, misty cliffs, secluded temples, villages, and dark waters. Tsukuyomi's influence becomes particularly prominent after nightfall. Tsukishima suffers from a heavy Zombie and Undead infestation.
Area: Tsukimori
A quiet village surrounded by old forests in the island's interior.
Quests
Rescue surviving villagers as hordes of undead emerge from the forests and overrun Tsukimori.
Hunt the Necromancers raising slain villagers as undead.
Locate missing Penal Blades who disappeared while attempting to destroy an undead nest beneath the village.
Area: Gekkōji
A temple settlement devoted primarily to Tsukuyomi and overlooking the sea.
Quests
Defend the temples of Tsukuyomi against waves of undead climbing from the cliffs and surrounding graveyards.
Purge corrupted temple grounds where Necromancers are raising dead monks and shrine guardians.
Recover a sacred relic of Tsukuyomi before the undead use it in a necromantic ritual.
Area: Mikazuki Castle
A small but strategically important castle situated upon Tsukishima's highest cliffs.
Quests
Break through the undead army surrounding Mikazuki Castle and reinforce the trapped samurai.
Destroy the undead samurai commanders coordinating attacks against the castle.
Descend beneath Mikazuki Castle and eliminate the powerful Necromancer responsible for spreading the infestation across Tsukishima.
5. Tower of Kami
This one works differently from the normal islands.
Atmosphere: An ancient reverse tower erected by Susanoo that descends beneath the seafloor. Its environments become increasingly unnatural as adventurers descend.
Areas
Floor 1 → Floor 100
Every floor is considered its own Area, rather than the Tower having conventional settlements.
Quests
The quests are therefore generated according to the current floor:
Defeat the floor's enemies.
Complete its trial, puzzle, or environmental challenge.
Find treasures, materials, weapons, or Relics before descending farther.
