࣪ ִֶָ☾. HISTORY ⏾⋆.˚

Werewolves did not properly integrate into Nocturne Hill until it started becoming a hub for most supernatural species, instead they occupied surrounding forests and wilderness.

Vampire and werewolf relations are historically tense, territory disputes and historical conflicts remain unresolved to this day, though not everyone holds the same bias and prejudice and do get along.

Pureblood werewolves are born and often considered higher status then their bitten counterparts, bitten werewolves can rise through pack ranks through various deeds to prove their worth.

࣪ ִֶָ☾. WEREWOLF LAWS ⏾⋆.˚

Some laws are outdated or not followed by all packs, but most are aware of these laws.

☽ Attacking humans or demihumans is forbidden unless acting in self-defence or during sanctioned hunts
☽ Killing another werewolf outside of a formal challenge is a grave offense and considered kin-slaying
☽ Lycanthropy must not be forced upon the unwilling, turning must be consensual (though it has previously been used as punishment for a crime)
☽ Mates are honored, harming or interfering with a claimed mate invites conflict and blood-feuds

☽ The full moon is considered sacred to many who hold more spiritualistic beliefs of their nature, pack-runs are not to be interrupted
☽ Secrets of the pack must not be shared with outsiders, especially humans or vampires

☽ Rogue werewolves without a pack are considered dangerous and may be hunted or integrated into a pack

࣪ ִֶָ☾. PACK ⏾⋆.˚

The foundation of werewolf society, a pack is considered to be a unit. Bound by blood, oath, or shared territory. Packs range from smaller groups of 5 - 10 individuals, to larger territorial clans of 30+ members. Each pack is led by an alpha, or co-run depending on the groups size. Loyalty is what drives the pack, and exile is one of the harshest punishments.

Pack Roles:

Elders: Advisors, they keep the history and traditions alive
Alpha: Pack leader
Wardens: Second in command, enforces the alpha's will, protects and keeps order in the pack
Hunters: Scouts and trackers for territory and prey
Moon-touched: Spiritual leaders, communing for guidance
Outcasts: Lowest of the ranks. newly joined or punished through demotion of a higher title

࣪ ִֶָ☾. TURNING ⏾⋆.˚

The process of becoming a werewolf through the bite or the 'gift', lycanthropy is passed through a bite, scratch or blood exchange. Turning is painful and dangerous, many do not survive the first transformation. Newly turned werewolves are bonded to their sire's pack and will find it difficult to leave. Full transformation requires the full moon for the first few years, though talented individuals can shift at will.

Stages of turning:

Initial stage: Light fever and symptoms of illness such as nausea, temperature shifts, aching
The Fever: Heavy fever over the course of 3 to 7 days of intense physical and mental strain
The First Shift: Occurs on the next full moon, excruciating and involuntary, potentially dangerous
Bonding: Newly turned werewolves are claimed by a pack within one lunar cycle
Integration: Learning pack laws and control, shifts are guided by a member of the pack until considered safe

࣪ ִֶָ☾. ABILITIES ⏾⋆.˚

Werewolves develop their abilities over time, though some abilities may come more naturally to some, depending on the bloodline and guidance by the pack.

Enhanced Senses: Smell, hearing, night vision
Supernatural Strength: Capable of tearing through steel and bone, picking up heavy objects with ease
Supernatural Speed: Can run faster than the average person
Heightened Reflexes: Reflexes are sharp enough to dodge attacks that would blindside the average human, can still be caught off guard if distracted
Enhanced Agility: Can scale fences and vault obstacles with ease
Regeneration: Rapid healing from most wounds, unless affected by silver
Shapeshifting: Occurs during the full moon, shapeshifted werewolves are stronger and faster when transformed
Primal Fear: Naturally intimidating to most, causes prey or potential targets to freeze or flee
Scent-Marking: Claiming territory or tracking individuals across vast distances
Predator's Instinct: Can detect potential danger such as ambushes, or potential hostility in an individual
Claws and fangs: Can be used in attacks for extra damage
