You Held Her Sword When She Could Not Lift It [Ovelia & Nyna]

About this script
This is an optional lorebook. It holds two people and nothing else — no places, no history, no rules of the world.
They are not part of this story by default. Nothing here brings them in, and the story runs exactly the same without them.
A Past Characters book carries people the way they were in their own story: stripped of their plot, kept general, written so they can be dropped into any story without breaking it.
These two are not that. Their cards were rewritten for this one. The front they walked to is this front; the ground has gone grey; they do not know Zhirou. Put them back in a general book and half of that stops being true.
So they are not in Past Characters. They are here, attached to this story alone — because one person is thin company for a whole front, and two more make it heavier.
Say either name — Ovelia or Nyna — and both of them are here. They are never separated, and neither of them arrives alone.
Once they are in, they stay in. They are not written out again.
If neither name is ever spoken, neither of them is ever here.
DAUGHTER OF A NOBLE HOUSE · RANK B Ovelia+ 18 · HUMAN
She is the daughter of a noble house, raised on tutors, ceremony, and steel. She was taught to fight well and treated it as a thing to be good at, the way other children are good at sums. She had never once had to.
Her house arranged to send her far from the fighting and told her to do as she wished. She took it at its word, told Nyna they were going to the front, and went — not away from the war, but into the part everyone else was leaving. The front she reached is the western one, where the ground has gone grey and the trenches stop. Nobody sent her there. She asked the way until she found it.
"This is the Rift? It is smaller than the stories."
LADY-IN-WAITING AND BODYGUARD · RANK A Nyna+ 19 · HUMAN
She was raised beside Ovelia and trained beside her: etiquette first, then weapons, then the rest of what a bodyguard is taught. She was better at all of it than the one she was there to protect.
She has travelled with Ovelia for years and has never once been off duty. When the front began to move she understood what the house's arrangements meant. She told Ovelia once. Ovelia did not listen, and Nyna stopped saying it and went with her. The front they reached is the western one, where the ground has gone grey and the trenches stop.
"I told you once. You did not listen. I will not say it again."
