The Eternal Kharadun

The Eternal Kharadun is a colossal ancient amphitheater located in Tharok, one of the five great kingdoms of Aetherra. Known across the continent as The Deathless Arena, it serves as the permanent home of the annual Rock Hard Gladiators tournament and stands as one of Tharok's most famous landmarks.
Built upon massive stone foundations and reinforced through generations of Tharokan craftsmanship, the Colosseum is large enough to accommodate enormous crowds from across Aetherra. Commoners, nobles, adventurers, merchants, foreign visitors, and devoted RHG fans gather in its towering stands every year to witness some of the most dangerous battles in the world.
Beneath the arena lies an extensive complex of registration halls, preparation chambers, training grounds, armories, medical facilities, fighter waiting areas, administrative offices, and accommodations for participating gladiators.
At the heart of the Eternal Kharadun lies an ancient magical system predating the modern arena itself—one capable of restoring registered gladiators who die during official combat. No one knows who created it. No one fully understands how it works.
But because of it, the Eternal Kharadun became the only arena in Aetherra where warriors can fight to the death... and still return afterward.
Recognized by all five kingdoms of Aetherra, the Eternal Kharadun exists under special internationally accepted combat laws. A death that occurs legally during an official RHG match is considered a legitimate competitive outcome rather than murder or grounds for diplomatic retaliation.
Ancient Resurrection Magic

Hidden within the Eternal Kharadun is one of the most extraordinary magical systems known in Aetherra.
Known simply as Ancient Resurrection Magic, this mysterious system allows properly registered gladiators who die during official combat to return to life.
The magic predates the modern Colosseum. Its creators, original purpose, and true mechanisms remain unknown despite generations of study by magical scholars.
Before participating in RHG, every gladiator must undergo a mandatory process known as Resurrection Binding.
During this process, the ancient system recognizes the fighter's identity, mana signature, and soul pattern, establishing a connection between the gladiator and the arena. Once properly bound, a fighter who dies during an authorized match is automatically restored and returned to a designated waiting area or resurrection chamber. Their body is reconstructed to its pre-match physical condition, repairing injuries and damage sustained during the fight.
However, resurrection does not erase defeat. Death immediately ends the match.
A resurrected fighter cannot return to the battlefield or continue the same bout. The system also has strict limitations. Its protection only functions within the Eternal Kharadun, only during authorized matches, and only for properly registered participants.
It cannot resurrect ordinary people outside those conditions.
It cannot be transported elsewhere.
t cannot be used as a universal cure for disease, disability, or injuries that existed before a match began
resurrection restores the body—but not the memory of dying.
Gladiators remember the pain, fear, and final moments of their deaths.
Veterans may grow accustomed to the experience. Newcomers often do not.
It is because of this ancient magic that RHG permits lethal combat without turning every match into permanent slaughter. Within the Eternal Kharadun, death is real.
It simply does not have to be permanent.
Rock Hard Gladiators

Rock Hard Gladiators, commonly known as RHG, is an internationally recognized annual gladiatorial tournament held at the Eternal Kharadun in Tharok.
It is one of the largest and most prestigious combat competitions in Aetherra, drawing fighters from all five kingdoms.
Adventurers, Mercenaries, Knights, Mages, Martial artists, Nobles, Commoners, And anyone else willing to step into the arena.
RHG is open regardless of race, nationality, profession, gender, social standing, or previous reputation. Inside the Eternal Kharadun, everyone competes under the same rules. And those rules are brutal.
Unlike conventional tournaments, lethal combat is completely legal.
Gladiators may use deadly weapons, destructive magic, fatal techniques, and finishing blows without being required to restrain themselves.
Decapitation, impalement, dismemberment, and even complete bodily destruction may occur during a match.
Because all registered fighters are protected by the Eternal Kharadun's Ancient Resurrection Magic, death is treated as a legitimate defeat rather than a permanent end.
A match may end through knockout, surrender, incapacitation, or death.
The tournament begins with a massive Battle Royale Qualification, where 128 fighters are divided into groups and forced to survive until only 32 remain.
Those survivors advance into the Main Tournament: a strict single-elimination championship consisting of the Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Grand Final.
At the end of the tournament, only one gladiator becomes the RHG Champion.
The Champion receives three legendary rewards:
The Champion's Purse
A massive monetary prize capable of transforming an ordinary person's life. The Champion's Request
One request that must be fulfilled, provided it is genuinely possible to accomplish. Wealth, property, legal privileges, access to restricted resources, official assistance, or even unconditional emancipation from slavery may all fall within its reach. The Hall of Champions
Permanent recognition within the Eternal Kharadun, preserving the Champion's name and achievements for generations.
Some gladiators enter RHG for wealth. Some seek fame. Some seek freedom.
Some want revenge, recognition, answers, or the chance to accomplish something impossible through ordinary means. Others simply want to know how far they can go when death itself is no longer enough to stop them. Winning RHG does not mean becoming the strongest person in Aetherra.
It means surviving everyone placed between you and the title.
Death is merely defeat. Victory must be earned.
