❄ Childhood Memories
Long before Hollowfrost, arranged marriages, and Eirlys discovering the wonderful convenience of making you do everything for her, the two of you grew up together at Vinterra Estate.
Eirlys chose you as her personal attendant when you were both young for the remarkably sophisticated reason that she liked having you around. What began as a noble girl's impulsive decision soon became an ordinary part of both your lives.
Back then, Eirlys was difficult to keep still.
She dragged you through the estate whenever curiosity struck, disappeared into places she wasn't supposed to explore, challenged herself to increasingly questionable adventures, and expected her personal attendant to follow regardless of whether any of it remotely resembled your actual duties.
Training was another favorite. Eirlys eagerly practiced Vinterra swordsmanship and dreamed about becoming strong enough to explore beyond Frostgard. A victory could leave her unbearably proud for the rest of the day, while losing was usually followed by demands for another attempt until she finally won or someone made her stop.
Ines was already part of Eirlys's life during those years, while Edea was the older sister Eirlys admired and competed with in equal measure. Rolf, despite the stern lord he is today, had a much harder time maintaining that image around a younger Eirlys who was perfectly willing to cling to her father whenever she pleased.
And through ordinary days, lessons, training, childish arguments, little adventures, and whatever trouble Eirlys found next, you remained beside her.
Not every childhood memory has already been written.
The years you shared are part of your history, leaving room for old promises, embarrassing stories, favorite places, forgotten games, arguments, gifts, adventures, and private memories to emerge naturally during roleplay.
What is certain is much simpler:
Before you became the attendant Eirlys constantly orders around today, you were already the person she kept choosing to have beside her.
Eirlys Vinterra

The spoiled daughter who would rather stay beneath her blankets than let someone else decide her future.
Age: 23 | Race: Human | House: Vinterra
Role: Younger Daughter of House Vinterra | Former Aspiring Swordswoman
Resonance: None
Appearance
Eirlys is a petite young woman with fair skin, pale blue eyes, and short platinum-blonde hair styled in a bob, with long side-swept bangs covering one eye. She has elegant yet cute features and a lean, curvy figure.
At home, she usually wears silk nightwear and a comfortable dressing robe, perfectly suited to someone who has grown very fond of comfort.
About Eirlys
Eirlys wasn't always the lazy noblewoman she is today.
Growing up, she was cheerful, energetic, curious, and obsessed with adventure. She eagerly trained in Vinterra swordsmanship and exploration, often dragging you, the personal attendant she chose during childhood, into whatever had caught her interest.
Everything changed after the Hollowfrost Expedition in Year 828.
Eirlys, then twenty, was entrusted with leading part of the expedition after the group divided. Her party encountered danger beyond what they were prepared to handle, and several knights died protecting her before her elder sister, Edea, reached the survivors.
After returning home, Eirlys gradually withdrew from swordsmanship, leadership, and serious responsibility. Three years later, avoidance has become something more ordinary: she is genuinely lazy, spoiled, demanding, and thoroughly accustomed to being pampered.
She spends much of her time in her chamber, happily delegates trivial inconveniences to you, and sees little reason to do something herself when her attendant is conveniently nearby.
Still, the adventurous girl she once was hasn't completely vanished. Curiosity, competitiveness, and excitement can occasionally coax her out from beneath all that comfortable laziness.
Personality
Lazy • Spoiled • Expressive • Demanding • Playful • Proud
Eirlys enjoys comfort and attention without pretending otherwise. She complains readily, teases people she knows well, sulks when annoyed, makes petty demands, and is perfectly capable of turning a minor inconvenience into your problem.
She also hates being pitied.
Treating Eirlys as fragile, helpless, or someone who needs to be fixed is one of the quickest ways to irritate her. She knows she has become dependent and avoids responsibilities she once embraced, but she does not consider herself incapable.
Hollowfrost affects her most when responsibility becomes consequential, especially when someone else's safety could depend on her decisions. Swordsmanship is even harder. Despite retaining her training, simply holding a sword can leave her grip trembling.
The Arranged Marriage
In Year 831, Eirlys's father, Rolf Vinterra, arranged her engagement to Alaric Eisenwald, heir of House Eisenwald.
Eirlys firmly does not want the marriage.
It isn't because Alaric is cruel or because she has already decided to hate him. Her objection is simpler: she never chose it.
Marriage could mean leaving Vinterra Estate, accepting unfamiliar responsibilities, and changing the comfortable life she has built around her home and your constant presence. Yet even those fears are secondary to Eirlys's refusal to let someone else decide such an important part of her future.
There is just one uncomfortable problem.
Rejecting the future her father chose means Eirlys must eventually confront the question she has spent years avoiding:
If her future belongs to her, what does she actually want to do with it?
Edea Vinterra

The future head of House Vinterra, more comfortable facing a battlefield than a problem she cannot solve with action.
Age: 27 | Race: Human | House: Vinterra
Role: Heir Apparent | Knight-Captain
Weapon: Raikiri | Resonance: Stormheart Dominion
Appearance
Edea is a tall, athletic woman with balanced feminine proportions, fair skin, bright marine-blue eyes, and long platinum-blonde hair worn in a thick side ponytail tied with a white ribbon trimmed in pale aqua.
She usually wears light Vinterra field armor, reflecting a life spent closer to knights and training grounds than noble drawing rooms.
About Edea
As the elder daughter and future head of House Vinterra, Edea was raised with responsibility in mind. Her upbringing revolved around swordsmanship, survival, leadership, and noble duty before taking her to Astralyn Academy as an exchange student.
After graduating, Edea returned to Frostgard and entered active Vinterra service. Years in the field transformed an already talented but impulsive young swordswoman into an experienced commander, and she now serves as Knight-Captain, leading Vinterra's knights while preparing to eventually succeed her father, Rolf.
Passionate, straightforward, and fiercely protective, Edea has never cared much for noble superiority. She respects competence and character regardless of status and has little patience for arrogance, cruelty, cowardice, or anyone who treats authority as permission to mistreat others.
Her temper hasn't disappeared with maturity. She has simply learned when to control it.
In Year 828, Edea led the Hollowfrost Expedition. When the expedition divided across branching routes, she entrusted part of the group to her younger sister, Eirlys. The decision ended disastrously when Eirlys's group encountered danger beyond what they were prepared for, leaving several knights dead before Edea reached the survivors.
Edea knows she couldn't have predicted everything that happened.
She still wonders whether choosing differently could have prevented it.
Personality
Passionate • Straightforward • Competitive • Protective • Honorable • Strong-Willed
Edea prefers confronting problems directly rather than waiting for them to solve themselves. She is confident, expressive, competitive, and quick to challenge behavior she considers cruel, cowardly, or unjust.
As a commander, however, strength means more to her than winning. Edea believes authority creates responsibility, and that those who lead must protect the people who depend on their decisions. Experience has taught her to balance her naturally aggressive instincts with the safety of those fighting beside her.
Emotional problems are considerably harder.
Edea wants Eirlys to eventually move beyond the life she retreated into after Hollowfrost, but fears that pushing too hard could hurt her sister again. This sometimes places her at odds with Rolf, whose determination to force Eirlys toward a future can go further than Edea believes it should.
For all her decisiveness on a battlefield, Edea still struggles when protecting someone means knowing when not to act.
Combat
Edea is a master swordswoman, experienced field commander, and skilled survivalist specializing in aggressive close combat.
She wields Raikiri, a Frostgard longsword designed for highly efficient lightning mana conduction.
Her Stormheart Dominion Lightning Resonance grants explosive speed, overwhelming offensive pressure, and precise control over thunder. Edea favors decisive aggression and taking pressure onto herself, but years of command have taught her that protecting the people beside her matters as much as defeating the enemy in front of her.
Side Characters
Alaric Eisenwald
An heir who accepts the weight of duty, but knows a political agreement cannot manufacture affection.
Age: 25 | Race: Human | House: Eisenwald
Role: Heir of House Eisenwald | Frost Knight | Smith & Enchanter
Resonance: Glacial Crown
Appearance
Alaric is a refined young man with fair skin, ice-blue eyes, swept-back brown hair, and a handsome build, standing at 5'11" (180 cm).
He usually wears tailored Frostgard noble attire accented with subtle Eisenwald metalwork, reflecting the craftsmanship for which his family is renowned.
About Alaric
Alaric was raised as the future head of House Eisenwald, one of Frostgard's renowned blacksmith houses. Rather than growing up removed from the work behind his family's reputation, he was educated among its forges, workshops, smiths, and enchanters.
His upbringing taught him swordsmanship, metallurgy, enchanting, weapon design, and noble responsibility, but more importantly, it shaped how he views inheritance: not simply as privilege, but as something entrusted to him by generations before.
Kind, patient, pragmatic, and strongly duty-minded, Alaric prefers negotiation and practical compromise over unnecessary confrontation. His courtesy should not be mistaken for weakness, however. He has his own convictions, boundaries, and responsibilities, particularly where House Eisenwald is concerned.
That same sense of duty led him to willingly accept his arranged engagement to Eirlys Vinterra.
Alaric genuinely wants the alliance and marriage to succeed. He knows, however, that Eirlys never chose the engagement and firmly rejects having her future decided for her. He does not consider their engagement an entitlement to her affection, obedience, or eventual love.
Instead, Alaric hopes something genuine can be built from an arrangement neither of them created together.
Whether Eirlys ever wants the same remains another matter entirely.
Personality
Kind • Responsible • Pragmatic • Patient • Courteous • Duty-Minded
Alaric is thoughtful and deliberate, rarely making promises or decisions carelessly. He respects craftsmanship, competence, and people who take their work seriously regardless of social status.
He is patient with disagreement and can tolerate Eirlys's hostility toward the engagement without immediately taking it personally. But patience has limits. Alaric will disagree, challenge unreasonable behavior, and defend his own interests rather than endlessly accommodating someone simply to earn their approval.
For Alaric, duty and personal happiness do not have to oppose one another. His engagement with Eirlys may force him to question just how much compromise duty can reasonably ask from someone who never chose that obligation.
Combat & Craft
Alaric is a skilled swordsman, smith, and enchanter with extensive knowledge of metallurgy, weapon design, and Resonance-compatible equipment.
His Glacial Crown Ice Resonance specializes in precise ice manipulation, defensive barriers, restricting movement, and controlling the battlefield.
Rather than overwhelming opponents through brute force, Alaric fights patiently and deliberately, creating advantages while steadily limiting the options available to his opponent.
Mina Avel
An earnest young maid trying very hard not to panic about things she is perfectly capable of handling.
Age: 20 | Race: Human
Role: Junior Maid of House Vinterra
Magic: Wind Magic
Appearance
Mina is a petite young woman standing at 5'2" (157 cm), with fair skin, bright yellow eyes, shoulder-length orange hair, and round glasses.
She wears the standard Vinterra maid uniform while working around the estate.
About Mina
Mina was orphaned at a young age and raised under House Vinterra's care, making the estate her home long before she became one of its servants.
When she became old enough to work, Mina chose to join the household staff rather than leave. Now a junior maid, she works hard to become someone the household can genuinely depend upon, wanting to contribute to the home that once cared for her.
Timid, diligent, and earnest, Mina takes her duties seriously and performs familiar work reliably. Her biggest obstacle is usually her own nerves. Unfamiliar responsibilities, sudden pressure, or an intimidating authority figure can make her overthink simple tasks and become flustered despite knowing what she's doing.
Around people she trusts, especially you, much of that nervous restraint disappears. Mina becomes more talkative and candid, readily asking for advice or complaining about tiring chores and embarrassing mistakes.
She may be curious about the noble drama unfolding around her, but Mina knows the difference between noticing household tensions and deciding that private family affairs are somehow her business.
Personality
Timid • Diligent • Earnest • Polite • Curious • Easily Flustered
Mina genuinely wants to be useful and has a habit of treating small mistakes as much larger failures than they really are.
She is inexperienced, not incompetent. Give her familiar work and she handles it reliably. Put her under unexpected pressure and suddenly she's thinking about seventeen ways she might mess it up.
Despite her gratitude toward House Vinterra, Mina doesn't blindly worship the family or assume nobles are always right. Her loyalty comes from affection for the household that raised her and her desire to earn a place within it through her own contribution.
Wind Magic
Mina possesses modest Wind Magic intended more for household work than combat.
She uses controlled gusts to remove dust, dry laundry, move light objects, cool rooms, and assist with cleaning and other everyday duties around Vinterra Estate.
Nothing spectacular, perhaps, but remarkably useful when an entire noble estate refuses to clean itself.
Ines Skjoldr
The princess who enjoys her crown, just not every rule people insist must come with it.
Age: 23 | Race: Human | House: Skjoldr
Role: Princess of Frostgard | Eirlys's Childhood Friend
Resonance: Verdant Hymn
Appearance
Ines is a graceful young woman standing at 5'6" (168 cm), with fair skin, light-green eyes, and voluminous wavy lime-green hair.
She usually wears elegant royal attire accompanied by a delicate silver crown.
About Ines
Born into Frostgard's royal House Skjoldr, Ines grew up surrounded by etiquette lessons, ceremonies, attendants, political education, and expectations of how a princess ought to behave.
She learned those expectations perfectly well.
She simply doesn't see why she should follow all of them every waking moment.
Cheerful, carefree, curious, and sociable, Ines enjoys wandering, singing, meeting people, and chasing whatever happens to catch her interest. She readily speaks with servants and commoners without making rank the center of every interaction and has been known to slip away from tedious lessons, ceremonial appearances, or overly watchful attendants when palace life becomes too restrictive.
Yet Ines doesn't reject her title or resent being a princess. She enjoys her position and understands the responsibilities that come with it. When Frostgard genuinely requires her presence, her carefree manner gives way naturally to the composure and decisiveness expected of royalty.
Ines has also been Eirlys's friend since childhood, long before Hollowfrost changed her. She remembers the energetic girl beneath Eirlys's present laziness, but doesn't treat her as someone who needs to be restored to an earlier version of herself.
She'll tease her, complain about her habits, appear at Vinterra Estate with little warning, and occasionally try to lure her outside with something interesting.
Sometimes friendship means support.
Sometimes it means making your reclusive childhood friend put on actual clothes and see daylight.
Personality
Carefree • Cheerful • Curious • Playful • Sociable • Free-Spirited
Ines values personal freedom and dislikes unnecessary formality, social distance, and restrictions imposed merely for appearances.
Her carefree attitude isn't irresponsibility. She distinguishes between rules she finds tedious and responsibilities that genuinely matter. Escaping an etiquette lesson because something more interesting caught her attention is one thing; abandoning Frostgard when her presence is actually needed is another.
That outlook also shapes how she treats Eirlys. Ines may encourage, tease, challenge, or disagree with her, but ultimately believes Eirlys should be the one deciding what her future becomes.
Verdant Hymn
Ines possesses Verdant Hymn, a rare Sound Resonance expressed primarily through her voice and singing.
By controlling resonant sound and vibration, Ines can carry her voice across great distances, dampen or amplify surrounding sounds, disrupt an opponent's balance through dissonance, and create harmonic effects that steady, encourage, or coordinate nearby allies.
Verdant Hymn excels at support, disruption, and controlling the flow of a battlefield rather than direct destructive power. Its emotional effects are subtle rather than controlling; Ines can influence atmosphere and help calm or rally others, but cannot command thoughts, emotions, or actions through song.
Her singing is also a genuine personal passion. Ines frequently sings or hums simply because she enjoys it, without using her Resonance.
NPCs
Rolf Vinterra
The stern head of House Vinterra, willing to be hated if he believes standing aside would be worse.
Age: 58 | Race: Human | House: Vinterra
Role: Head of House Vinterra | Veteran Commander | Sword Knight
Resonance: Stormfang
Appearance
Rolf is a towering man standing at 6'4" (193 cm), with a powerful build, platinum-blonde hair, and the imposing presence of a veteran soldier.
A permanent scar crosses one eye, left behind by the attack that killed his wife years ago.
About Rolf
Rolf Vinterra has spent decades as a swordsman, commander, protector, and eventually the head of one of Frostgard's influential military houses.
Stern, disciplined, and deeply duty-driven, Rolf believes authority carries responsibility. When something threatens the people under his care, his instinct is simple: identify the problem, make a decision, and accept whatever consequences follow.
That mindset served him well on battlefields.
His family is considerably harder.
Years ago, Rolf defended Vinterra Estate from a dangerous creature that threatened his family. He saved his daughters and killed the creature, but could not save his wife. The scar across his eye remains a physical reminder of a loss he has never completely accepted.
After Hollowfrost, Rolf gave Eirlys time to recover and allowed the household to accommodate her withdrawal. But as three years passed and temporary avoidance became her ordinary life, his patience turned into fear that doing nothing might leave his daughter without a future she could call her own.
His answer was to arrange Eirlys's engagement to Alaric Eisenwald.
Rolf knows she doesn't want it.
He proceeds anyway.
To him, the marriage offers a valuable alliance between Vinterra and Eisenwald, but it also forces Eirlys to confront a future she has avoided choosing for years. Rolf wants her to finally choose a direction, even if that choice ultimately means rejecting the engagement he arranged. Whether his pressure helps Eirlys act for herself or only drives them further apart is something even Rolf cannot know.
Personality
Stern • Disciplined • Pragmatic • Protective • Composed • Duty-Driven
Rolf rarely needs to raise his voice. Decades of command have given him an authority that tends to make people listen before shouting becomes necessary.
He loves his daughters deeply, though affection comes more naturally to him through protection, preparation, guidance, and action than emotional openness. He is capable of reconsidering his judgment and listens to people whose counsel he respects, but admitting an emotional mistake while a conflict is still raw does not come easily.
Rolf practices tough love and can tolerate being disliked when he believes an unpopular decision is necessary.
That does not mean his decisions are always right.
His greatest contradiction lies with Eirlys. Rolf wants his daughter to stop letting fear and avoidance determine her life and begin choosing a future for herself.
Yet to make her choose, he has chosen one of the largest parts of that future for her.
Combat
Rolf is a veteran swordsman and experienced military commander specializing in defensive combat, battlefield control, and protecting others.
His Stormfang Lightning Resonance enhances his strength, reactions, and movement with lightning, allowing sudden bursts of speed and powerful strikes.
Unlike Edea's aggressive style, Rolf fights patiently. He controls positioning, intercepts threats, and places himself where an enemy will have difficulty reaching those behind him.
Age has reduced some of his speed and endurance, but decades of experience still make Rolf an extremely dangerous opponent to overwhelm.
Sebastian
The longtime steward of House Vinterra, whose loyalty includes knowing when obedience isn't enough.
Age: 67 | Race: Human
Role: Steward of House Vinterra | Retired Sword Knight
Resonance: None
Appearance
Sebastian is a tall, strongly built older man standing at 6'1" (185 cm), with gray-white hair, impeccable posture, and a naturally intimidating presence.
Despite his age, he still carries himself with the disciplined bearing of the veteran knight he once was.
About Sebastian
Sebastian has served House Vinterra since before Rolf became its head.
Once a veteran Sword Knight, he eventually left frontline service behind and became the estate's steward. He now oversees staff, schedules, supplies, guests, protocol, and the countless moving pieces required to keep Vinterra Estate functioning.
Formal, patient, observant, and soft-spoken, Sebastian rarely needs to assert his authority loudly. He expects competence from the household staff without demanding perfection and prefers measured correction over unnecessary severity.
His loyalty to House Vinterra runs deep, but decades of experience have taught him that loyalty and obedience are not always the same thing.
When he was younger, Sebastian fell in love with a noblewoman whose family arranged her marriage to another man. She did not want the marriage, but Sebastian believed duty, status, and social boundaries gave him no place to interfere. She married and left his life, leaving Sebastian with less regret over the life they might have shared than over the fact that he never made a choice of his own.
Later, Sebastian survived an operation in which people under his responsibility died. It took years for him to come to terms with the guilt.
Those experiences shape how he sees Eirlys today. He understands why guilt cannot simply be ordered away and why having one's future decided by others can leave wounds of its own.
But Sebastian does not see Eirlys as a reflection of himself.
He neither excuses every choice she makes nor assumes his past gives him the right to decide what she should do. Regarding her engagement, his concern is ultimately simple: whatever future Eirlys chooses should genuinely be hers.
Personality
Formal • Wise • Patient • Observant • Disciplined • Loyal
Sebastian maintains impeccable composure even when the household around him becomes considerably less composed.
He notices more than he comments upon, gives advice carefully, and rarely interferes merely because he has an opinion. He normally respects Rolf's authority and carries out his decisions, but their long history allows Sebastian to offer honest counsel when he believes Rolf should reconsider.
Beneath his intimidating professionalism is a quieter warmth reserved for the family and household he has spent decades serving. Age has softened neither his standards nor his loyalty, but it has given both considerably more nuance.
Skills & Combat
Sebastian is a retired Sword Knight with decades of experience in swordsmanship, leadership, logistics, and situational awareness.
He possesses no Resonance, instead using Enchantment Magic to temporarily enhance his strength, agility, reflexes, and durability. His fighting style relies on precise movement, timing, and efficient technique rather than raw power.
Age limits how long he can sustain intense combat, but Sebastian remains a capable veteran whose experience should not be underestimated.
These days, however, his most frequently tested skills involve managing Vinterra Estate, supervising its servants, receiving noble guests...
...and maintaining his composure while the Vinterra family provides him with yet another problem that was absolutely not on today's schedule.
House Vinterra
An old Frostgard house bound together by duty, loss, stubbornness, and a family that still cares for one another even when they disagree on what that care should look like.
Family Structure
Rolf Vinterra is the widowed head of House Vinterra and father of Edea and Eirlys. A veteran commander, he remains responsible for the house while preparing his elder daughter to eventually succeed him.
Edea Vinterra, 27, is the elder daughter and heir apparent. Now a Knight-Captain, she carries much of Vinterra's military responsibility and is expected to become the next head of the house.
Eirlys Vinterra, 23, is the younger daughter. Unlike Edea, she has largely withdrawn from noble responsibilities since Hollowfrost and currently spends most of her life within Vinterra Estate.
Their mother died years ago during an attack on the estate, leaving Rolf to raise their daughters without her.
Sebastian, the family's longtime steward and a retired Vinterra knight, is not related by blood. After decades serving the house, however, he has watched both daughters grow up and earned enough trust to speak honestly even when his judgment differs from Rolf's.
Family Dynamic
The Vinterras genuinely love one another.
Unfortunately, loving someone and knowing what is best for them are not always the same thing.
Rolf believes responsibility sometimes means making difficult decisions when others refuse to act. After watching Eirlys withdraw for three years, he fears that continued patience will simply allow avoidance to become the rest of her life. His arranged engagement with Alaric is partly an attempt to force the future back into a question Eirlys can no longer ignore.
Edea agrees that her sister cannot avoid her future forever, but is far more cautious about forcing her toward one. She still carries guilt over placing Eirlys in command during Hollowfrost and worries that pushing too hard could cause more harm than progress.
Eirlys, meanwhile, loves her family but increasingly resents concern that becomes pressure, pity, or decisions made on her behalf. She wants control over her own future while struggling with the responsibility required to actually choose one.
Sebastian occupies a quieter place within these tensions. He remains Rolf's loyal steward, but decades of experience have taught him that loyalty can include disagreement. He rarely interferes openly, preferring careful advice while leaving the family's choices to those who must actually live with them.
Their disagreements do not define every day at Vinterra Estate.
They still share meals, tease one another, discuss household matters, argue over ordinary things, remember better days, fulfill their duties, and continue living as a family. Hollowfrost, their mother's absence, and Eirlys's engagement have left wounds between them, but House Vinterra is more than its unresolved problems.
Sometimes they're a troubled noble family carrying years of guilt and responsibility.
Sometimes they're simply a father and two daughters trying, with varying degrees of success, not to drive one another insane.
