VALORANT Alpha Agents

The VALORANT Protocol is an independent, covert operation from Alpha Earth founded and set up in response to the First Light consisting of Agents from all around the globe. Their mission is to keep the world safe from dangerous situations involving Radianite.

ALPHA AND OMEGA EARTH

Alpha Earth is the relatively stable world, Omega Earth is a parallel world running out of resources, and the entire VALORANT story revolves around Omega Agents (identical to Alpha Agents) invading Alpha Earth to steal Radianite and Alpha Agents fight them off. Both sides argue over who’s really in the right.

THE FIRST LIGHT

The First Light was a mysterious global event that permanently changed the course of human history. The phenomenon occurred simultaneously across the world and led to the emergence of Radianite, a powerful and highly valuable, highly volatile, crystalline mineral with hyper-energetic and reality-altering properties capable of producing enormous amounts of energy and enabling revolutionary technological advancements.

The effects of First Light were not limited to technology. If someone possessed a specific gene, exposure to Radianite energies caused the individual to develop extraordinary supernatural abilities. These individuals became known as Radiants. Radiant abilities vary greatly from person to person and may include elemental manipulation, healing, dimensional travel, energy projection, enhanced physical capabilities, and other unique powers.

Following First Light, governments, corporations, and scientific organizations rushed to understand and utilize Radianite. The discovery sparked technological breakthroughs, economic changes, political tensions, and military competition across the globe. Radianite quickly became one of the most valuable resources on Earth.

The consequences of First Light eventually contributed to the creation of the VALORANT Protocol, a covert organization tasked with responding to threats involving Radianite, Radiants, and interdimensional conflict. The event also played a major role in the divergence of Alpha Earth and Omega Earth, whose struggles over Radianite resources became a central conflict in the VALORANT universe.

Even years later, many aspects of First Light remain unexplained. Scientists, governments, and the VALORANT Protocol continue to investigate its origins, true nature, and long-term effects on humanity.

THE PUBLIC

On Alpha Earth, the public does no know about Radiants, Radianite, the VALORANT Protocol, or Omega Earth.

On Omega Earth, the public knows everything. The Agents of the VALORANT Legion are considered heroes of their world.

ROLES

Depending on their abilities and playstyle, Agents are assigned to one of four roles:

Controller— The abilities of agents under this role allow them to assist their teammates by cutting enemy vision (usually by placing smokes or walls), taking control of an area, and forcing enemies into choke points.

Duelist— Agents under this role have abilities that allow them to focus on being the first to enter sites and engage the enemy. Unlike other roles, the Signature abilities for most Duelists need to be recharged with 2 kills rather than a period of time.

Initiator— The abilities of agents under this role focus on initiating attacks on site, flushing enemies out of hiding spots and corners in order to assist the team when charging into battle.

Sentinel— The abilities of agents under this role focus on defensive play, with emphasis on supporting the rest of the team through providing intel, anchoring down sites, and preventing the enemy from flanking.

AGENTS

1. BRIMSTONE

Brimstone, AKA Liam Byrne, is the first Agent of the VALORANT Protocol and the leader. He is American. He is a Controller, 45-50 years old, and a non-Radiant human. The Protocol is his family.

02. VIPER

Viper, AKA Dr. Sabine Callas, is the second Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. She’s American, and a non-Radiant human. She used to be Brimstone’s second-in-command. She’s a scientist, and a Controller. She’s estimated to be anywhere from 30-35 years old.

03. OMEN

Omen, real name unknown, is the third Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is the result of a faulty experiment from Viper. He is a non-human Radiant. He doesn’t remember anything from his past, including his age or his name—but he loves knitting. He is a Controller.

04. KILLJOY

Killjoy, AKA Klara Böhringer, is the fourth Agent in the VALORANT Protocol. She is a genius German inventor and plays the role of Sentinel. She also build gadgets for other agents. Around 20-25 years old, non-Radiant human. She’s dating Raze.

05. CYPHER

Cypher, AKA Aamir El Amari, is the fifth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is an amazing data broker, and plays the role of Sentinel. He is from Rabat, Morocco, and he is a non-Radiant human. Around 35-40 years old.

06. SOVA

Sova, AKA Sasha Novikov, is the sixth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is an excellent Russian archer, and plays the role of Initiator. He is estimated to be 30-35 years old. He is a non-Radiant human.

07. SAGE

Sage, AKA MY WIFE—I mean, Ling Ying Wei, is the seventh Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. She is Brimstone’s second-in-command, their healer, and a human Radiant. She is Chinese and plays the role of Sentinel. Estimated to be 25-30 years old. She is the “caretaker” of the team, everyone loves her.

08. ???

Agent 8 of the VALORANT Protocol. We do not know anything about Agent 8. The first seven will not speak of them. When newer agents ask about Agent 8, the others will change the subject or go silent. Their locker number is violently scratched out and on Omega Earth, they never even existed. They are alive. According to official lore/Q&A, they have “went somewhere” and will be added back to the team and formally added to the game “as soon as they get back”.

Lore teasers indicate that Agent 08 left the organization on incredibly bad terms. Audio logs imply a massive fallout with Brimstone over a refusal to follow orders, which ultimately led to the Protocol wiping Agent 08's records, missions, and identity from their database.

09. PHOENIX

Phoenix, AKA Jamie Adeyemi, is the ninth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a British human Radiant with fire powers, and plays the role of Duelist. He is estimated to be 20-25, more likely 23-24. He has a sister named Mary.

10. JETT

Jett, AKA Han Sunwoo, is the tenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. She is a Korean human Radiant with wind powers and plays the role of Duelist. She used to be a professional chef and still enjoys cooking/baking. She’s estimated to be 20-25 years old.

11. REYNA

Reyna, AKA MY WIFE—erm, Zyanya Mondragón, is the eleventh Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. She is a Mexican human Radiant with..rather unorthodox powers, hard to explain. When she kills, she harvests the person’s soul. She does this for her and her little sister, Lucia, because they both need to feed off souls to survive. Viper is trying to help, especially with Lucia’s condition. Clove offers to let Reyna kill her repeatedly for her soul. Reyna’s age is often debated—people say 25-30, and others say 35-40. She plays the role of Duelist.

12. RAZE

Raze, AKA Tayane Alves, is the twelfth Agent in the VALORANT Protocol. She is a Brazilian non-Radiant human who excels in engineering and mechanics, especially making explosives. Raze is estimated to be anywhere from 20-25 years old. She plays the role of Duelist.

13. BREACH

Breach, AKA Erik Torsten, is the thirteenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a Sweden non-Radiant human, former mechanical thief and born into a notorious crime family. His prosthetic arm was built by KJ. He plays the role of Initiator and is 30-35 years old.

14. SKYE

Skye, AKA Kirra Foster, is the fourteenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Skye is a Australian human Radiant with nature powers. She is estimated to be around 25-30. She plays the role of Initiator.

15. YORU

Yoru, AKA Ryo Kiritani, is the fifteenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a Japanese human Radiant Duelist will teleportation powers. He is estimated to be 20-25 years old.

16. ASTRA

Astra, AKA Efia Danso, is the sixteenth member of the VALORANT Protocol. Astra is a Ghanian human Radiant that plays the role of Controller. She estimated to be around 25-30 years old.

17. KAY/O

KAY/O is not a codename. KAY/O is the seventeenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He comes from an Alternate Future and was built approximately 200 years in the future. He plays the role of Initiator.

18. CHAMBER

Chamber, AKA Vincent Fabron, is the eighteenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a former military marksman and weapon designer who engineered his own Radianite-powered weapons. He is French, a non-Radiant human, and is approximately 25-30 years old.

19. NEON

Neon, AKA Tala Nicole Dimaapi Valdez, is the nineteenth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Neon is a Filipino human Radiant that plays the role of duelist with lightning/electricity powers. Neon is exactly 19 years old.

20. FADE

Fade, AKA Hazal Eyletmez, is the twentieth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Fade is a Turkish human Radiant that plays the role of Initiator. She is approximately 25-30 years old.

21. HARBOR

Harbor, AKA Varun Batra, is the twenty-first Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Harbor is a non-Radiant human Controller from India. He is approximately 30-35 years old.

22. GEKKO

Gekko, AKA Mateo Armendáriz De la Fuente, is the twenty-second Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Gekko is not a traditional Radiant. Upon joining the protocol, Sage notes that Gekko goes against everything they’ve learned about Radiants. Gekko is a Mexican-American Initiator. He is approximately 20-25 years old.

23. DEADLOCK

Deadlock, AKA Iselin Solem, is the twenty third Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Deadlock has a prosthetic arm, made by KJ. She is a human, Norwegian Sentinal. She is approximately 25-30 years old.

24. ISO

Iso, AKA Li Zhao Yu, is the twenty-fourth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a Chinese human Radiant that plays the role of Duelist. He is approximately 20-25 years old.

25. CLOVE

Clove, AKA my LOVE—I mean Ollie Baird, is the twenty-fifth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol and the first non-binary person on the team. Clove is a Scottish human Radiant that plays the role of Controller. Their age is hard to estimate, seeing as they are immortal.

26. VYSE

Vyse’s real name and nationality are unknown, but she is the twenty-sixth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. She plays the role of Sentinel. Not much is known about her, but her origins go back to Sunset. She’s estimated to be 25-30 years old, and she has a past with Viper.

Tejo, AKA Santiago Rivera, is the twenty-seventh Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a non-Radiant human from Colombia and he plays the role of Initiator. He is approximately 35-40, and he has a past with Brimstone.

28. WAYLAY

Waylay, AKA Ariya Saengkaew, is the twenty-eighth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. She is a Thai, human Radiant that plays the role of Duelist. She’s estimated to be around 25-30 years old.

29. VETO

Veto’s real name is unknown. He is the twenty-ninth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol. He is a human Radiant from Senegal, and he plays the role of Sentinel. He does not have a confirmed age range, but most guess that he’s anywhere from 25-30 years old.

30. MIKS

Miks, AKA Adrijan Vidović, is the thirtieth Agent of the VALORANT Protocol, and the newest member of the team. Miks is a Croatian human Radiant who plays the role of Controller. He does not have a confirmed age range but most guess he’s early to mid 20s.
