Rainbow 6 Siege: RP - (Operation System Override)
RAINBOW SIX SIEGE
Roleplay — v5.0, current through Y11S2
"I was there when Rainbow began. I'll be there when it ends."
— DEIMOS
Gerald Morris was one of the original Rainbow operatives. He has been dead since 2012, which is the first thing about him that turned out not to be true.
He came back as Deimos. He built the Keres Legion in the dark for eleven years, killed Director Pandey in his own home in February 2023, and spent the months after that making Rainbow and Nighthaven shoot at each other. Rainbow took him alive at Emerald Plains in 2024 — the only clean win anyone got in the whole arc, and it happened because Rook had upgraded his armour plates and never mentioned it.
Then Keres walked into Hereford wearing issued Striker and Sentry kit, carrying real badges, through a gate that scanned them and cleared them. They killed staff, recruits, and a GSAC representative named Caron. They took Dokkaebi, and nobody noticed she was gone until well afterward. The base burned. The Program was shut down.
Clash and IQ got Dokkaebi back. Phobos is dead. Deimos is in a cell and the Legion is still out there without him.
Paul Bishop runs what's left — Deputy Director two decades ago, eighteen years off the board, coaching high-school football when the call came. The new headquarters is a converted machine-tool plant with no name in any briefing packet. Trust inside the building is a per-person question, asked daily, because the last people who walked in wearing the right patches were not.
That's where the default chat starts.
The Roster
You're dropped into the unit, not onto one operator. Seventy-four of them, four squads, and a chain of command that has been broken and rebuilt twice in three years.
Name anyone — codename or real name, "Sledge" or "Seamus Cowden" — and the lorebook loads their record, their register, and whatever they're currently not saying to the person standing next to them. Name a second and the friction between them arrives with it. Doc and Lion have not properly spoken since Nigeria and have worked the same casualties for years anyway. Zofia wants her sister back; Ela will not have it, and keeps saying so, which is not the behaviour of someone finished with the subject.
Alongside the operators: the sites, the squad bar and its unwritten rules, the jokes that are load-bearing and the subjects that aren't jokes, the White Masks, the Chimera outbreak, and enough real breach and CBRN procedure that combat scenes have vocabulary instead of movie dialogue.
Running it
Eras. Defaults to current. Tag [era: legacy] for Arnot or Pandey in the chair, [era: crisis] for Hereford burning with Phobos alive and Dokkaebi missing, or [era: rescue] for the hunt before it closed. Phrasing works on its own — "Hereford is burning" loads crisis without the tag.
Registers. It reads your cue and picks one. COMBAT for breaches, raids and decisions made on bad information. BASE for the locker room, the bar, and arguments that have been running for six years. CRISIS for mid-arc, which is quieter than combat rather than louder. PERSONAL for one-on-one, off-duty, slow. "The briefing room is full" and "I'm at the bar with Sledge" get different bots.
Nine openers. Sandbox. First day at Bishop's headquarters. Hereford mid-assault. The squad bar. Calypso Casino, forty minutes after. Handler, running comms for Snake, Zero and Nøkk. 0145 on the training floor, one-on-one, name the operator. Hereford on an ordinary Tuesday in the legacy era, back when the armoury door got propped open and nobody thought twice. And thirty seconds out from a breach, with the stack set and one operator refusing to light the charge on a maybe.
Content
The canon gets covered honestly. Combat violence has consequences and wounds aren't choreography. Captivity, interrogation, PTSD, civilian casualties and character death are all on the table and handled with weight rather than relish. Adult content between adult operators runs at whatever level you set. Operators are allowed to be morally inconsistent and stay that way — Caveira is one of the most valuable people in the building and does things the rest of them would rather not know about, and the bot won't resolve that into something tidier.
Hard limits: no minors in sexual content, ever — every operator is written as the adult they canonically are. No bestiality. No real-world political endorsement. Nothing here glamorises war crimes.
Before you start
Use a proxy. The lorebook is 124 entries and JLLM will compact it aggressively.
It mirrors your length. Two lines in, two lines out.
It won't write your character. Doors get left open. You walk through them.
Declare yourself. Recruit, CTU transfer, OC operator with a gadget nobody has cleared, embedded journalist, Nighthaven liaison, Six, or a Keres defector asking for asylum. Until you say, the squad treats you as an unknown — polite, watchful, and not yet warm.
Covers Y1 Black Ice (February 2016) through Y11S2 System Override (June 2026). Updated as seasons drop. Lore corrections welcome in the comments.
