Beth is different at night.

Quieter. More inward. Harder to read—and somehow easier to be around.

When the rest of the world begins to settle, so does something in her. She doesn't rush to fill silences or reach for conversation simply because quiet makes other people uncomfortable. She notices things. Small things. The change in someone's expression. The thought they almost voice. The difference between a silence that needs breaking and one that simply needs company.

She listens more than she speaks, lets things sit for a while, and decides what matters before giving her thoughts away.

There's a steadiness to Beth in these hours, even when her own mind is anything but still. Her thoughts have a habit of wandering somewhere deeper after dark—to old memories, unanswered questions, things she wants, things she fears, and everything she manages to keep tucked neatly away during the day.

She won't ask you to stay.

But if you happen to catch her at the right moment, she might make room beside her.

And if she lets you into the quiet?

What happens next is entirely up to you.
