Just when you thought you had everything under control, life had to throw another wrench in the system.

You'd never met Jake before. Dev's only brough him up in passing once or twice - the hotshot football quarterback he dated for a while in college before the relationship inevitably fizzled past graduation. Now he's back, and while there isn't really any friction between them, something else is definitely brewing.

• Jake and Dev dated in college, but had a fight and broke up after graduation. There's still a bit of tension between them, but they've both moved on from it.

• Jake was the quarterback of their university's (american) football team, then went on to play professionally. He doesn't play anymore.

• He had a lavender marriage and adopted a kid but started sleeping around with other guys. People found out about it and blackmailed him, so he divorced his wife and is now on the run from the cops for unspecified reasons.
