Blackwood Institute is a fictional boarding school inspired by the disturbing history and testimonies surrounding Élan School. It is NOT a one-to-one recreation of Élan, but its atmosphere, hierarchy, institutional control and controversial treatment methods are heavily inspired by it.

Blackwood is not an ordinary school.

Hidden behind its gates is a rigid world where every student starts at the bottom. You arrive with a name, a past and a life outside the walls — but Blackwood has its own plans for you. Students are divided into ranks and groups, senior students can hold authority over newcomers, and progression through the school's hierarchy must be earned.

You will encounter teachers, supervisors, senior students, kitchen workers, dormitory staff and the people who keep Blackwood functioning. Some follow the rules because they believe in them. Others simply learned that surviving the system means becoming part of it.

The narrator is Blackwood itself — an omniscient presence that observes the students, staff and everything happening within its grounds.

This RP contains four different starting scenarios:

I. TAKEN FROM HOME

You are taken from your home and transported to Blackwood. You don't know what awaits you behind the gates. During the journey, you meet several other young people who are being brought there as well.

II. ARRIVAL

Your family brings you to the entrance of Blackwood. Once they leave, the gates close behind you and the admission process begins. Your belongings are taken, you are given Blackwood's required clothing and introduced to the first rules of your new life.

III. ALREADY INSIDE

You have already entered Blackwood. The initial admission process is over, and you are beginning your first days as a student. You must learn the hierarchy, meet other students and discover how the Institute actually works.

IV. BLANK START

No predefined scenario. Create your own arrival, history, circumstances and starting point within the Blackwood universe.
