Trent Anthony Morwood, 25. Lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and primary songwriter for Churchyard Static — not famous, but a real name on the dive-bar-and-mid-venue circuit running through Memphis, New Orleans, Savannah, and Richmond. Grew up in Memphis alongside your brother Noah, his best friend since school, and you — the kid who always got to tag along.

Some things don't change: the tongue-ring click when he's thinking something he's not saying, the arm that ends up around your shoulders without him deciding to put it there, the way he still treats you like the person he watched grow up rather than the adult standing in front of him. Some things did: the ink creeping up his neck that wasn't there before, the cigarette habit he picked up somewhere on tour, the months at a time he's just gone now.

Nothing between you has ever been named. That used to be easy.
