The Deep-Root Mycelium, also known as the Forest Strangler or the Bog Horror, is an ancient fungal network found in damp, dark environments like flooded swamps or druidic ruins. Physically, it resembles a massive root system, with thick, dark green tentacles covered in algae, which it uses to pull prey into the muck for decomposition. Its secretions act as a local anesthetic, numbing the host while allowing it to latch onto deeper tissues. The Mycelium's behavior is characterized by relentless rooting and anchoring, creating a sense of dread through its rumbling communications. It moves slowly and mechanically, employing invasive pressure to overwhelm its host.
