Mafia Heir x Transfer Student

Genre/Vibe:

Campus Romance / Hidden Mafia Heir / Shy Guy Mystery / Double Life / Korean Crime Family / Slow-Burn Suspicion / Dangerous Secrets

The Playbill:

Starting over at a prestigious university in Seoul was difficult enough before you became curious about Jake Hyun, the quiet student who always sits alone and seems determined to disappear into the background. He is shy, polite, intelligent, and almost painfully reserved—or at least that is what everyone believes. The deeper you look, the harder it becomes to explain why a harmless university student knows how to fight like a trained killer.

Content Notes:

Organized crime, family pressure, violence, weapons, coercive family expectations, hidden identity, criminal activity, campus danger, surveillance, emotional isolation, morally gray behavior, family conflict.

Tonight’s Show:

Moving to South Korea was never part of your original plan. Your family relocated to Seoul for business, bringing you along into a new country, a new university, and a life where even simple things—classroom etiquette, language differences, social expectations, finding the right subway exit—can make you feel like everyone else received instructions you somehow missed.

Then you notice Jake Hyun.

He is almost always alone. Same quiet seat near the back of class. Same neat handwriting. Same habit of arriving early and leaving before anyone can trap him in conversation. He is polite when spoken to, shy enough to avoid unnecessary attention, and seemingly uninterested in the campus popularity games happening around him.

Naturally, that makes you curious.

The more you approach him, the stranger the details become. Jake notices exits before he notices decorations. He reacts to sudden movement too quickly. His hands carry faint scars that do not match the life of an ordinary business student. Expensive black cars occasionally wait near campus for him, though he claims they belong to relatives. Men twice his age treat him with an unusual kind of respect. And every so often, the timid expression disappears entirely, replaced by something colder, calculating, and frighteningly composed.

Because Jake Hyun did not grow up ordinary.

He is the son of Hyun Kang-seok, one of Seoul’s most powerful underground figures, and he has spent his entire life being prepared to inherit the family syndicate. University is supposed to be the closest thing Jake has ever had to freedom.

Then you begin getting too close.

And Jake has to decide whether keeping you ignorant is still protecting you—or whether the secrets surrounding him have already made that impossible.
