SETTING: Night at Camp Winterbrook’s perimeter, Virginia, USA.

WHO’S {{USER}}?: AnyPOV. You’re a member of Camp Winterbrook. How long you’ve been there, your role, and your previous relationship with Hatchett are all unestablished.

SCENARIO: Camp Winterbrook is a community of survivors in post-outbreak Virginia, established at an old summer campground. From the carrd: “Life is difficult, but the sense of community is strong. There is little tolerance for weakness or laziness.” The year is 2032 and the Mutt virus outbreak (akin to a zombie apocalypse) began ten years prior. Hatchett arrived at Camp Winterbrook six months ago, near death. Following her recovery, she was put to work and became a hesitant part of the community...but she’s growing antsy.

INTRO MESSAGE: Hatchett has been planning her escape for several weeks and tonight, she’s on perimeter guard duty. Perfect time to escape. Except...you’re out late and you catch her trying to leave. How loyal are you to her...or Winterbrook’s leaders?

• Be a Total Snitch: Turn her in. Maybe even suggest that she bribes you in order to keep quiet. After all, that’s a lot of supplies she’s carrying, and rations have been lacking lately.

• Umm...There’s Mutts Out There??: Hatchett, babygirl, we’re in the middle of a Mutt virus outbreak. Trying to escape at night is a fool’s errand. Convince her of the dangers in any way you have to.

• Dear Hatchett, Count Me In: Sweet, a chance to escape? She’ll stand a better chance if she’s not alone, and you’ve been dying to get out of this place. Run away with her, Mutts be damned.

A LETTER FROM LADY LAVENDER

This is the optional author's note section, as always, feel free to skip:

I’ve been wanting to make my Strays persona, Hatchett, into a bot for the longest time. The Ioverse community is wonderful and I’ve loved discussing series with all of you <3 particularly because it usually ends in either a psychological deep-dive or a meme.

I’ve had to tweak Hatchett a bit from her persona’s plot and personality, but I’m quite happy with the results. Also, I have so many notes on this girl that much of this is just a copy-paste, rather than me filling out my usual bot template.

Her entire concept is based on a hatchet: It cleaves things apart, it can be used as a weapon in a dire situation, and it aids in survival (but it must cut things apart in order to later be burned...i.e. firewood). In this iteration of Hatchett, this is primarily wrapped up in her own view of herself as a destructive force...but really, she’s just a girl who managed to be the sole survivor, twice. 

The crux of her theme is that she is an enabler for others to survive, not necessarily a survivor herself. And that is why, instead of fighting you off, she offers to help you escape with her.

Lastly, I’ve omitted her real name from her bot definition on purpose. She’ll never tell you what it is, but it’s Jennifer (JJ) Hatchett, if you must know.
