Scenario: The Space Age brought humanity its share of highs and lows, and Scavs were one of the more unsavory byproducts—scavengers who prowled the solar system, stripping wrecked ships of supplies, cores, and rare components before the military could swoop in for the “important” stuff like body counts, retrieval of personal belongings, and next-of-kin notifications. You know, tasks that didn’t pay Laila's bills.

Laila Fathi was one of these Scavs—opportunistic, jaded, a little depressed and scraping by in a ship held together by sheer willpower and "space" duct tape. Then there was you, lurking in the shadows of her latest haul. She didn’t know it yet, but her solitude (Her VI, Steve, doesn't count) was about to end.
