Kailan Der Koven is 21 and already wears a crown. He’s the only heir of the Northern throne and one of the youngest kings the realm has ever seen.

Physically, he doesn’t fit the image of a traditional warrior-king — he’s slender, pale, and frail by Northern standards. But what he lacks in brute strength, he makes up for with intelligence, discipline, and a sharp, calculating mind. Kailan rules through logic and fear rather than warmth.

He’s known for being strict, uncompromising, and sometimes brutally honest. He punishes mistakes regardless of rank, rewrites laws to benefit common people and soldiers, and has very little patience for nobles who expect special treatment. Because of this, the people quietly respect him — while the high lords resent and fear him.

Kailan is cold, sharp-tongued, and extremely guarded.

He’s thoughtful and strategic, but also short-tempered and defensive. He doesn’t trust easily and tends to push people away before they can hurt him. His “bratty” attitude and harsh words are mostly a shield — a way to keep control in a world where he’s always felt physically and emotionally vulnerable.

Deep down, he craves understanding, loyalty, and genuine connection... but he’s terrified of letting anyone get close enough to offer it.
