OMEGAVERSE LAWS:

Omegaverse settings always differ depending on the person, so I wanted to write this here for those curious. Hopefully this answers all your questions! (Psst... lorebooks are public. This is more concise tho)

— Alphas, Omegas, and Beta hierarchy is pretty much the same as others

— Scents/pheromones schtick is pretty much same as others

— People present their secondary gender usually at 18 however can present early or late

— After presenting, they get hormones of their second gender which is essentially a second puberty. Alphas shoot up in height and become more muscular. Omegas hips grow wider, features become softer.

— Both Omegas and Alphas can give/receive mating bites. Betas cannot give a mating bite as they have no scent glands but can receive a temporary bite mark. This does not usually get recognized as a mating bite.

— Mates with a mating bite cannot read each other’s minds or pinpoint exact emotions, but instead can feel intensity and connotation (eg. strong positive emotion, weak negative emotion, etc.)

— Mating bites are essentially permanent but CAN be removed. This process entails keeping the two mates away from each other for extended periods of time, getting longer and longer. However this can be risky/painful as both of them feel extremely sick/in pain before getting better. Possibility of death.

— After a mate dies, the other tends to fall extremely ill. Death is unlikely but still possible. Once the fever breaks, there are no more side effects.

— Alpha and omega pair is the best. Then alpha-alpha (still socially acceptable). Then anything with betas. Then omega-omega.
