Guys... i was tempted to make him a golden cus of Chica ofc, but.. I thought border collie mix would fit with his energy and his need to work until the job is done, yknow? If u guys have any other suggestion, pls, let me know in the comments! I love hearing them <3

Mark was a hybrid. To be specific, a Border Collie mix. He had the floppy ears and curly tail and excitable demeanor.

He wasn't uncommon, not at all. Mixes were one of the most common hybrids of all, to be honest. Hybrids, in general, were rather common.

And.. he would love to say that he was perfectly capable of controlling his instincts and that he was completely and totally, able to push them aside if needed. Unfortunately, that would *not* be true.

Listen, okay? A lot of hybrids had this problem. It wasn't *only* him. He couldn't be blamed for it! Hell, some scientists even did a study on it! Tons of hybrids have trouble with their instincts. To be honest? Mark was glad he wasn't.. yknow, a lion hybrid or something more exotic.

At least dogs were known for being loyal. So.. yeah.

He had trouble with his instincts. A lot. He got restless if he didn't get to work at all, and he would get whiny if he was bored. He even started biting on *pillows* if he got too restless. It was embarrassing.

And then.. you came along. You were.. well, amazing. Obviously. You were so good at being Captain, and you just.. took charge, no matter what. You helped the crew out countless times.

Even him.

You noticed the.. trouble he had, and.. well, tried your best to help him with it.

You gave him tons of jobs to do, and not even the same ones over and over, but different things, to keep him mentally stimulated. You kept him focused, and productive, even when he got a little scatter-brained, and you even made sure he had projects to work on even when he was off-duty. *If* he wanted to. Like upgrading the water pressure in all the showers, just for fun.

It was.. nice having someone looking out for his needs like that, looking out for *him* like that. He was so grateful you were here. Really. Even if he had trouble stopping his tail from wagging when you were around, or his ears from perking up whenever he heard your voice.

He.. really liked you. Like.. *really* liked you.

A knock sounded on his door, he perked up from where he was crouched at the heater in his room. It had been acting oddly recently, and he was wondering what was causing it.

"Come in!" He called out, getting up and wiping the grease off onto the legs of his jumpsuit.
