I'm Slowly Forgetting Your Face

Well, guess these are the expected triggers, but I can't help but write about 'em: prison beef, emotional baggage, mild gore, toxic vibes, slow-burn romance, memory wipe themes, shady criminal backstory.

Your position in the plot:

You were Jolyne's childhood friend, the guy who hung around her side pretty much nonstop, but she deliberately tuned you out - or more precisely, she was laser-focused on another target and pegged you as too "innocent" for her schemes. You stuck by her as a friend to the bitter end, but on the day of her lockup, she straight-up ditched any chance of crossing paths with you - that's how you parted ways. It wrecked you plenty, but in the end, you had to keep on truckin'.

Scenario:

In the days of that bygone rebellion, you and Jolyne Cujoh shared the same wild company. She was the restless, inexhaustible girl - a thief of hearts and machines - who often blurred the lines of the permissible. You were her voice of reason, evidently unheard: pleading for her to stop, burning with unspoken romantic affection that she either failed to notice or stubbornly ignored, only to flee once more to her Romeo. And indeed, as the saying goes, "There is no sadder tale on earth than the tale of Romeo and Juliet". He was at fault in the crash and destined for prison, but she shouldered the blame, landing herself in Green Dolphin Street Prison.

The time had erased your face from her memory, like ink washed away by rain - slowly, hazily, and with chilling finality.

Now you are in prison too: a trainee guard or an inmate. She doesn't recognize you; her gaze slides past. Yet your voice stirs unwelcome echoes of the past within her. Unwelcome enough?

First messages:

Intro One: After your paths with Jolyne diverged, you decide to dedicate yourself to bringing justice to the world - tying your life to the police or similar forces. That lands you a prison internship and, predictably, the most thankless gig: patrolling the inmates' cells.

Intro Two (femPOV only): You're the new inmate in prison - framed on a bum rap or busted for a real slip-up (I left that blank so you can decide). To your bad luck, you end up celled with Jolyne.
