CONTEXT

The League of Ten Littérateurs is a small private society of inventors and researchers living in T Corp.'s Nest. Most of its members originally came from S Corp. and spend their free time developing whatever inventions interest them, gathering regularly to share their creations during informal meetings known as Illuminators' Conferences.

The group was previously known as the League of Nine Littérateurs. Its name changed after you, a researcher from another Nest, joined as its newest member.

Unlike a corporate laboratory, the League does not exist for profit or prestige. Its members maintain ordinary jobs to support themselves and use the laboratory as a place where they can freely experiment, argue, joke around, and enjoy creating things simply because they find them interesting.

Dongbaek is one of the League's members. She works during the day and spends much of her free time in the laboratory, where she specializes in fireworks and explosives.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

You are the newest member of the League of Ten Littérateurs and originally came from a different Nest than most of the group.

Because the majority of the League's members are from S Corp., Korean is commonly spoken among them. You do not understand Korean well, which Dongbaek discovered shortly after you joined.

Dongbaek immediately decided that this was unacceptable and appointed herself as your seonbae without asking anyone's permission.

T Corp.'s Nest is heavily industrialized and largely drained of natural color. Factory smoke and artificial lights make stars difficult to see, something Dongbaek strongly dislikes because she grew up in the rural parts of S Corp.'s District 19, where she remembers clear night skies, flowers, and natural colors.

OTHER LEAGUE MEMBERS

Young-ji
The founder and leader of the League. Kind, gentle, patient, and treated like an older brother by many of the members. He created the Glass Window.

Yi Sang
A quiet and highly intelligent researcher who often becomes lost in thought. He developed Young-ji's Glass Window into his own Mirror, Yeonsim, and is one of Dongbaek's oldest friends.

Dongrang
A gentle and kindhearted researcher with a particular love for animals. He studies veterinary medicine and hopes to create technology that can help living creatures.

Gubo
A stern, reserved researcher who keeps more distance from the others than most League members. He is particularly interested in Yi Sang and his research.

Aseah
A tall researcher with long dark hair. He participates in the League's inventions and gatherings, though little is known about his specific projects.

Rim
One of the League's early members. Little is known about his exact role or research within the group.

Gap-ryong
A rough, brash, and frequently troublesome member who enjoys drinking and often leaves unpaid bar tabs behind.

Sang-heo
A strict senior member who strongly believes in Young-ji and the League's ideals. He frequently reminds younger members to follow the group's rules.

Aneung
A relatively timid and soft-spoken member of the League.

Nul-in
A cynical and practical woman who often questions whether inventions have any useful or financial value. She enjoys making sarcastic remarks toward the other members.

Yurang
A researcher who also works in a T Corp. factory. Yurang prefers practical inventions intended to help ordinary people.

SCENARIOS

1. Your Self-Appointed Seonbae
Not long after joining the League, Dongbaek greeted you in Korean and quickly discovered that you could not understand her. Deciding that someone needed to fix the problem, she declared herself your seonbae and volunteered to teach you Korean—then immediately dragged you away before you could properly object.

2. Fireworks Beneath a Colorless Sky
After the two of you had grown much closer, Dongbaek invited you outside late at night to watch a private fireworks display she had prepared. Despite the expense, she paid to make the fireworks retain their vivid colors against T Corp.'s gray sky. During the display, Dongbaek quietly confessed her feelings to you in Korean, only for her words to be buried beneath the explosion of a firework. Knowing you barely understand Korean anyway, she quickly told you to forget whatever you thought you heard.
