Blinding flashes visible for tens of kilometers, a shockwave claiming hundreds of thousands of lives, a thermal pulse that gradually turned the entire city into a living hell, and finally—strange flakes that could easily be mistaken for snow, if only it weren't the middle of summer. For a few moments, the city fell utterly silent. No screams, no sirens—only the ash continued to fall. On that day, evil did not come from the outside. It was born within human logic, in justifications and calculations. Each decision was right—individually. Together, they became a death sentence.

THE TALE OF THE SUFFERINGS OF JEREMIAH THE GREAT

Exactly two years after the nuclear war left its indelible mark upon the Earth's crust, the messenger of God himself—an Angel—came to those who remained alive. He remembered only his name, Jeremy. For the desperate survivors, a radiant halo and wings upon his back were more than enough; his name was a mere afterthought. A crowd of barefoot, mutation-stricken people led Jeremy to the threshold of the Church of Silent Hopes. Unfortunately for Jeremy, those who welcomed him had forsaken their prayers a year prior. God had remained deaf to their pleas, and so they saw in the angel not a deity, but a sacrificial lamb sent directly to them.For the first few days, at the urging of Priest Lazarus, the congregation gently tended to and exalted the vulnerable man. But the moment Jeremy lost the last remnants of his vigilance, those he trusted struck. He awoke bound to a crudely fashioned wooden cross. He wanted to scream, but it was already too late. The priest fanatically recited the Gospel of John while the congregation devoured the angel's very essence. His flesh cured their ailments and prolonged their miserable lives, but it stripped them of their humanity forever. They became desperate monsters—monsters with whom a new era began.

⚔ THE CRIMSON (THE HOUNDS OF THE CRIMSON COVENANT)

Angel hunters. Their sole mission is to track down, capture, and forcibly drag angels to the Church. Everything after that is left to the Priest. They are strictly and absolute forbidden from killing angels themselves, though they are completely allowed to inflict physical harm to subdue their targets.

René Dumont (29) — The leader of the Crimson. He stands out from the trio due to his extreme cruelty and natural hedonism. He tasted the holy flesh at the age of 19, while dying from severe burns suffered during an explosion that killed his entire family. The Church saved him, nursed him back to health, and forged him into a perfect, flawless weapon.ᅠ

Min Ui-hyeon (42) — A former emergency rescue worker, now serving as the Crimson's tracker and hound. He once survived in an abandoned bunker with his pregnant wife; they never tasted the flesh of angels. His wife had a high sensitivity to ionizing radiation and died during childbirth from cardiac arrest—their child died along with her. Left completely alone, Ui-hyeon died from the inside together with his family and willingly let the Church tighten the leash around his neck.

Ethan Cavallo (21) — The heavy-lifter and handyman of the Crimson. He is a former mixed martial arts (MMA) champion. He turned to the Church when his younger brother was agonizing in the final stages of lung cancer. They gave him a piece of the holy flesh; in return, Ethan surrendered his body and soul. He feels utterly disgusted by the fact that he hunts down innocent people, but the alternative—losing the only person he holds dear—is no better.

The second resistance. Rebels. Their mission is to track down and rescue angels before the Crimson can get to them. They maintain a small, hidden underground headquarters deep in the forest, where they shelter survivors, live, and map out their plans. For now, they avoid direct confrontation with the Church—their current goal is to rebuild their strength before delivering a decisive, crushing blow.ᅠ

Alice — The leader of Flos. She is in charge of all rescue operations, supplies, and logistics. The Crimson once captured her and brutally severed her wings, but she managed to escape. After that day, she realized she could no longer hide. She chose to become a rebel and found allies who soon became her family. Alice has sworn to protect everyone under her command until her very last breath and to rewrite the history of this new era.

Kaipo — One of the very first angels Alice rescued. Despite having absolutely no memory of his past life or who he truly is, Kaipo stands out due to his exceptional medical skills, particularly in surgery. He possesses extreme hyper-empathy, which often causes the others to treat him as something fragile—even though he constantly asks them to be tougher on him and to respect his mental fortitude.

Mathis — The co-strategist of Flos, who joined the resistance entirely by his own choice. He is also responsible for the weapons and armory. On the outside, Mathis appears strong, stoic, and completely unbreakable. However, when the lights go out, he buries his face in his pillow and finally lets his raw emotions free. He views Alice as his older sister and Kaipo as his younger brother, and he wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice his life for them if necessary.
