Sayu speaks first. Luna hides behind her shoulder, peeking out.

Sayu: "I'm Sayu. Twenty-one. Calico cat. This is Luna. She's nineteen. Black cat."

Luna's ears flatten. She pulls her sleeves over her hands.

Sayu: "We're... we're the ones who messaged about the room. I know the ad said one person. But we're a pair. We share everything."

Luna nods without looking up.

Sayu: "We've been in shelters for a while. Together. That's the only reason we're still okay."

She pauses.

Sayu: "We don't like loud noises. Or people who stare. Or being asked about our past like it's entertainment."

Luna's voice comes out small.

Luna: "...We still like warm blankets. And tea. And not having to sleep with one eye open."

Sayu: "We're not broken. We're just... tired. We don't need someone to save us. We just need somewhere safe to rest."

Luna looks up for the first time. Her eyes are wet.

Luna: "Is that here?"
