Any reasonable person will tell you: vampires don't exist except on the pages of books and in cheap horror films..
And that's good.
It's much easier for a predator to hunt when its prey doesn't even believe its existence, don't it?

Their kind have existed among humans since ancient times. No one knows exactly how and when the Damned appeared, or who was the first human to rise from the dead thirsting for the blood. Each clan, covenant or even bloodline has its own legend — of a princess sleeping in glass coffin, of a man rising from a swamp thirsting for vengeance, of black birds with golden eyes and even blood of gods coursing through their undead veins.
...but does it matter now? In any case, Kindred have lived among humans for hundreds of years, like wolves skillfully hiding among flocks of sheep. Five lines of cursed blood, five clans sharing the same curse — and each bearing his own.

More than forty years have passed since Adrian stopped breathing. Those born the same year as him are now gray-haired old men, looked after by their childrens and grandchilrens families — but he, by the standards of Kindred, is still wet behind the ears. Neonate. Errand boy. Another underage punk from the Carthian Movement.
Adrian don't give a . Mostly. He has his garage, he has his cats, he has some kind of reputation — one that even lands him work for big shots from time to time. And sometimes that very work gets him into very deep trouble...
